Actually i've never managed to get an Alliance yet. :sniff!:

I was also wondering...Frogboy does post some pictures of Aliens from time to time that are not in the game...would have been nice to have their picture used in the race description screen.
Actually i read once that a guy won it's first game of M002 at hardest difficulty without even expanding (custom race). He though the game had a lousy ai. I never win MOO2 at the hardest settings...I guess some people have got some luck by finding on their firts game the best way to win. I guess once you sorted this out, a game doesn't make so much sense. I guess i am not a skilled player as i got beaten again and again by various options (Military, 5x and Senate victory). It also depends on
I am a sceptic anyway with the metaverse. I have the feeling that some people make save games once they are on the trak to win and finish the same game multiple times to get a higher score...not funny. Maybe i am mistaken, prove me otherwise. 3/21/2004 (1.490000) Morality: Pure Good Galaxy Size: Huge 60000 Difficulty: Masochistic Win / Lost: Win: Military Conquest 3/21/2004 (1.490000) Morality: Pure Good Galaxy Size: Huge 60000 Difficulty: Masochistic Win /

Well...i am not that good and i wonder how you can win by just clicking next turn. I've just got beaten. Small cluster. I had contact with Evon, the Raas, the Imsais, the Silicoid and the Ithkul. I had managed to conquer the Silicoid to give me a better base to fight the Ithkull who were number one. I had good treaties with the others. So i was building a fleet to fight the Ithkull when the Evon and their ally, the Imsais, started a war with me...two fronts with at
I was told that i should come out in about 2 years.
It's a very different game. I wouldn't really compare them. SE4 is a great game, however it's highly concentrated on micromanaging, which is good, but very far from the macromanaging from MOO3. If someone thinks the ai is poor in MOO3, it's because he didn't get behind the concept. This is macro, in the game, there are many ai's, each one with priorities. Your role is to guive guidelines. There is no guarantee, that they'll do what you asked them do, however usually they'll follow the Developmen
Actually it's weird from the start as he did not even have the manual in the box...very strange :notsure:
Rainbow7....i share the same thoughs as you do. I was slowly starting to think i'm the only one who loves both games. ;)
Congrats!!! Patience has been rewarded ;)
3 patches? you should have only 1 : patch 1.25 You don't need any others.
So here a couple of places, be sure you take the patch 1.2.5: Official MOO3 page: http://moo3.quicksilver.com/official/patch060503.html German page: http://www.xxl-games2.de/index.php? Action trip: action=shownews&id=5407 http://www.actiontrip.com/files/patches/masteroforion3.phtml Gamezone: http://downloads.gamezone.com/demos/d9782.htm Moo3 Planet: http://www.moo3planet.de/?show=show&id=93 Master of orion 3 Guardian:<br
I had the game with patch on 2 different computers and 2 different systems (win 2000 and win XP)...both worked perfectly. The problem of the game not invading is due to the fact that the ai on release produced almost only transport ships....try to conquer a well defended system with your troops firing their phasers out of the windows :CONGRAT: What can i say...if you can't use the patch, forget the game
Sorry you have problems with MOO3 (i never had such a bug, actually i never had a problem with the program). I find it very different to GalCiv, so i play both constantly. It's clear, however, that the support from Stardock a wonderfull thing is ;) I played the demo of Space Empires 4. It's a very good game. However you'll have to micromanage a lot. I guess you can pretty much do everything in that game. Check the demo (100 turns on Shrapnel games) ;p
Can you download at all? just wondering cos i just downloaded again the patch from Apolyton. Maybe you should try at a time when the internet is not so full.
that's me... ;)
mmmh? i have been enjoying GalCiv since release and am looking forward to the Altarian Prophecy and of course GalCiv2, but still it doesn't keep me from playing other games too. So why beeing so negative? :notsure:
Just thought i'd share this. It won't be out for some time. I guess it will be released between GalCiv: Altarian Prophecy and GalCiv2...it should help to make the bridge. ;). The game is called Horizon. http://www.l3o.com
You don't get automatically in the Senate (you may choose it by customizing your race...but you'll loose some points on other aspects). You may restart the game a couple of times and see if you're in the senate or not. You may also enter into the Senate later, but that requires that some powerfull races in the senate vote for you...difficult, but not impossible. If you play the Ithkul...forget it, this race will never be in the Senate. you may have up to 16 empires at the start of the game.
Aldarian race? i have never seen sur a race in MOO3. Is it the name of an Empire? Do you mean the New Orions, the Antarans? they despise you and i haven't been able to talk to them yet either. I know that once they respect or fear you, they start to talk to you :notsure: 3000 turns is way too much and probably due to the fact that you play unpatched. For the patch try Apolyton: http://apolyton.net/moo3/ Concerning building DEAs. Some aspects have been corrected in th
Renegade...you don't seem to have played the game long enough. I can very well understand why you don't like it (i stopped playing the game shortly after buying it and started again only once the patch came out). But don't tell things that aren't true. 1. Every time I send my ships to do the archeological search they ALWAYS are destroyed and never find a thing ---> you need better ships. You need at least Armadas with good ships. You have to wait until your tech is more advanced. 2.
I still play MOO3 very much and enjoy it a lot. The game is completly different from Galactic Civilization. I would recommend you to buy it, especially at such a low price. However i would suggest you some things. 1. Get the patch 1.2.5. it fixes a lot of bugs. The game out of the box is pretty boring as the ai cannot build the fleets it needs to attack you correctly. 2. Don't use the manual from the box...it was already outdated when the game was released. However you can read the histo
I see two aspects: - first the Influence. - Second Boarders. In CIV 3 you had a mix of both. However i'd like to see both aspects apart. I think that boarders are important for diplomacy. You would be warned when a ship trespass your boarders and you would also know that, if you trespass the boarders of someone else you may create an incident. In GalCiv 2 i would see the influence as is in GalCiv (On the small Map). And Boarders on the main map (maybe fix boarders around each pla
i think that in Imperium Galactica 2 you can upgrade all ships by upgrading the design.
Just wondering if it could be possible to implement boarders (frontiers) to the game? This is something i enjoyed since i firts started to play "Birth of the Federation", "Call to Power 2" and "Civ3". I like the idea cos i don't have to keep huge fleets all around the place but at key points. In GalCiv (which i love!) one never knows if the fleets of the other empires are just passing through one's planets or aiming for the big kill
