I agree with what you say. I enjoy GalCiv a lot and play it on a regular basis but i barely use the diplomacy there while i use i constantly when i play any MOO. I hope i will find it more useful in GalCiv 2.

I wish GalCiv 2 to be a huge success...this will give TBS games a new life! Well done Brad...
Well i don't agree as it higly depends on the distribution/publicity of the game. MOO3 sold a lot copies as it was very well advertised....GalCiv managed to sell many as well but it was also thanks to various aspects (advertisement in the MOO3 box, good reviews, hearsay) and the game was finally not badly distributed in the world...but it took much longer. It would have sold a lot more if it had received the support MOO3 had. SEIV on the other hand was only sold on internet, thus limiting it t
it did happen to me too for more than 3 years not so long ago. As regular posters on forums we tend to forget that not everybody has the physical (depend on where you live) or financial means to be uptodate with their computers. For instance i have a laptap that runs fine and has got a good connexion but i won't be able to play Rome: Total War for at least 2-3 more years as i can't afford a new computer with a stronger video card....
My mouth is wet.... Great movie....i believe it could be longer with sample moves after that intro...would be even better.
I will buy both as they are a terrific job by two small companies. Each game has qualities and can very well exist on the same computer for a different experience. (also the fact that SE V has starlanes while GC II hasn't imply very different strategies). So my word: support indie developpers like Stardock, Malfador and Slitherine...they give us the best games. PS: it's been explained in the backstory why the alien races knew where the planets were. As far as i know, it's t
I just want to say THANK YOU...i am totally addicted to 4x strategy games and especially 4x space strategy games. I've had GalCiv since release and am still playing it a lot...it's a fantastic game. Be assured that i'll buy GalCiv II asap. Thank you for feeding our imagination with amazing worlds and strange creatures. Whenever you come to Switzerland, tell me and i'll arrange you a couple of days in the mountains <i
Well...GalCiv I's AI strategy really isn't that bad. I've got a huge border war going on in the 8th scenario (the Torians take my planet, i get it back and so on)...it's a lot of fun and it reminds me of the Dominion Wars in Deep space nine...if i only had more Paladins
I loved cloaked ships in birth of the federation or generally in Star Trek....i find it fun, but there must be some kind of counter-measure or weakness
I love what i've read....If you could only do Master of Orion 4 afterwards, we would have two fantastic series again....
It looks very promising...a good diplomacy engine is a very important aspect for me. Maybe you can work on Diplomacy's next installement now that Paradox (how can it be ) failed miserably.
CIV III is indeed very addictive but i get mad every time i play it due to the highly cheating AI and the micromanagment nightmare it becomes when you progress....it's a love-hate relationship for me. I just wish someone else would make that type of game too... As i did with CIVIII, i'll wait at least a year before i buy CIV IV.
I'll just repeat what i said....i believe that CIV is full of potential but misses the mark as i said in my other post: Sid Meier is highly overated. It's a nice guy who had some nice ideas (many were just copied from board games) and was lucky. As Civ is the only game of that type (apart from Call to power), it doesn't have any opposition and has, thanks to that, a large following (The concept CIV appeals to anyone). Now, i believe that there are so many things wrong in th
I think that Sid Meier is highly overated. It's a nice guy who had some nice ideas (many were just copied from board games) and was lucky. As Civ is the only game of that type (apart from Call to power), it doesn't have any opposition and has, thanks to that, a large following (The concept CIV appeals to anyone). Now, i believe that there are so many things wrong in the design of this game that there's no point picking up number 4 (i still play 3 from time to time despite it's numerous flaws jus
Nobody wants to make a comment?
Just wondering as there are spheres of influence and that each planet can be colonised. Is there a non-trespassing treaty or statement? One that would allow me to secure nearby planets as other empires wouldn't be able to enter my territory without declaring war... I am also curious to know if there are other new diplomatic options since GC1? Also...do we get a message when an enemy ship enters our territory? Thanks
I'd love to have captains or admirals whose qualities would influence the results. At Midway, the numbers were against the US, yet Nimitz managed to win this battle.
I know i'll be playing the full battles...looking forward to see some action. I don't know if anyone played Conquest: frontier wars but that's the kind of battle i was hoping to see in MOO3 (slightly slower). I think this would be awesom in a 4x game (not GalCiv of course )...not complicated, not too fast and good looking.
This is one of the main reasons i love GalCiv. 4x games are so time consuming that i just don't see the point of MP. Normal guys (like me ) don't have so much time. If the AI isn't good, then there's no fun. GalCiv is one of the best franchise of Space strategy games (the others being the MOOs and the Space Empires) and has a great story on it's own. So i don't want a MOO 2.5 or the like. However, i'd wish some great features. One of the ma
The galaxies in GCII will be larger. Great...this is one of my favorite thing in GalCiv 1.
Frankly i don't play MOO2 that much. It does have lot of good things but the game was too fast and too unbalanced. Diplomacy wasn't very usefull either. The Galaxy map was smaller than in MOO. My order of preferences is MOO, MOO3 and then MOO2 at the end. MOO was almost perfect and has the best design of all 3. GalCiv 2 will be an excellent game. The only thing i dislike in GalCiv is the CIV management of units...too much micromanagement. I prefer few ships or few fleets that are easier to
The initial land grab has been a major part of every 4x strategy game I've ever played, and I've never seen anyone come up with a variation that made the initial land grab less than essential while retaining the 4x elements of the game. Actually, i believe that the team who is working on Horizon: humans in space are going into an in
Double post
Draginol has done this in the past too....he likes to put know names....these are just placeholders for fun. Won't be in the final version.
Good luck...i've been following your progress since 2002 and have played GalCiv since release. Unfortunatly, i don't have time/patience to do such a long beta testing (furthemore i am already testing Legion Arena) so i'll keep wathing. I find the reaction of some testers funny...the actual build is so early, that it's normal to have a lot of crashes...seems as they expected a finished product. Anyway keep
