WORKAROUND: This is a bug in the New Microsoft Teams for Windows. It does not affect all users. Here is a workaround so you can see New Microsoft Teams Missed Chat notifications in the Tray icon: On the start menu, search for Microsoft Teams. Right click on it and select "Pin To Taskbar". Now, that icon will show chat notification overlays - showing the number of missed chat messages.

It happened to me again a few days ago. Unfortunately, it's random, only happens every couple of months and I can't replicate it on demand. Restarting always fixes it. Stardock is aware of the issue but is having trouble finding the cause. I hope they can track down the bug. basj from Stardock (above) asked to try restarting explorer.exe to see if that fixes it (I forgot to test that). Report back if you try it: <a href="https://www.howtogeek.com/19881

All the computers with the issue are running Windows 10 Pro or workstation 22H2 build 19045.2965 and Start11 v1.45. I have not been able to reliably replicate the issue on demand yet. One search and it's fine and another search seconds later and it's broken. This happens about once a month or two. The only way to fix Start11 in this state is to reboot. Restarting the Stardock Start11 service or terminating task Start11_64.exe doesn't help. Here is a screenshot. If

I don't want to do that as I have many custom settings in Start11. But it may be helpful to know that this bug happens on other computers in our office, not just mine. In addition, other customers are having this occasional issue, including pelaird in this thread. It's an intermittent bug that usually happens once a month, so a clean re-installation is unlikely to help. If there is a way to export my settings and then restore them, that would be nice.

Hi, Thanks. No network drives. It just happened yet again. It usually happens about once a month, but it just happened twice in two days. I misspelled Excel, and when I retyped it, the search was blank. This information may be helpful: When I type Event Viewer (or anything) the results are blank. BUT if press enter, Event Viewer opens. This probably means the results are there, but invisible. <img src="https://cdn.star

The following option is missing in Start11 that existed in both Start10 and Start8: "Open submenus when I pause on them" Note: It's missing from the GUI, but you can still disable with a registry edit (default is On, Off is 0. Yes the registry key is still called Start8 for Start11). Please put back in GUI. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ; open submenus when I pause on them ; This setting was removed from the Start11 GUI [HKEY_CUR

The Private Build (beta) has fixed the issue, so the final release should arrive soon. When released, Start10 will automatically update or you can RIGHT click on the start button and select "Configure Start 10", click on the "About" tab and then click on "Check for Update". You can also check for releases here (you're looking for a version higher than 1.60): https://www.stardock.c

The issue has been identified and a fix is in beta. The bug ONLY concerns searching for Windows system items (like Settings, Background Desktop Picture, Screen Saver, Printers & Scanners, mouse, etc.).

Reinstalling an older version Windows is not a solution. Stardock will have to fix Start10 to be compatible with Windows 10 1803. I'm sure they will as they have done in the past. Hopefully sooner than later.
