BUG REPORT: Start11 Search Menu Blank Occasionally requiring reboot

OS: Windows 10 21H2 and 22H2
Start11: v.1.31
Bug: Click on Start, Type a Search, Menu is Blank (see screenshot below).
Reboot required to fix.
This is getting annoying.  Disappointed in latest update.

If you mouseover the window does it repaint?

I can confirm this issue on Windows 10 build 19045.2194, Start11 ver. 1.31.

If "Use Start11 search in the Start11 start menu" is turned on, the search menu is blank in all four start menu styles. It worked briefly and then went blank. It does not repaint with mouseover.

If "Use Start11 search in the Start11 start menu" is turned off, the windows 10 search works as expected.

It's an intermittent bug.  Only experienced it three times with 12 workstations over the last couple of weeks.

Happened again on two computers.  It's intermittent.  Perhaps every couple of weeks or so.

This bug is still NOT fixed in the latest update today (v1.36).  This is a serious bug.  Please make sure it  was reported to the developers.  Thank You.

I can't reproduce the issue on my system. Can we have more information to try to reproduce it please. Can you post what your setting on this page please.

Also can you write down steps that I can try to reproduce it on my system.

Okay, I've changed my Start11 Search setting same as your, but I still can not reproduce your issue on my system. Might need more time. Something come to mind while I was testing my system. Do your system also search things on network drive/share drives too? Which I don't have on my system.

Hi, Thanks.  No network drives.  It just happened yet again.  It usually happens about once a month, but it just happened twice in two days.  I misspelled Excel, and when I retyped it, the search was blank.   This information may be helpful:  When I type Event Viewer (or anything) the results are blank.  BUT if press enter, Event Viewer opens.  This probably means the results are there, but invisible.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

I don't want to do that as I have many custom settings in Start11.  But it may be helpful to know that this bug happens on other computers in our office, not just mine.  In addition, other customers are having this occasional issue, including pelaird in this thread.  It's an intermittent bug that usually happens once a month, so a clean re-installation is unlikely to help. 

If there is a way to export my settings and then restore them, that would be nice.  It seems most if not all settings are stored here:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8

If there is any chance of getting this issue fixed, it might be best to help out in troubleshooting, this issue has not been able to be reproduced in house and seems to be a very edge case with only 2 people reporting it.

I just want to report I'm having the same issues, and have been having them for months (since installing Start11 on this machine). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and installing both beta and non-beta versions.

I'll try the full purge and report back, but I thought my info might be helpful. 

For me, search sometimes works, but will suddenly stop working in the middle of a search and never return (until a restart). As an example: Today I was searching for a file, and while typing the name a list of results appeared. Then with another keypress, the results went blank. Deleting the last letter typed didn't bring them back. All search results have been empty since then, no matter what I type, no matter what category is selected.

It's an intermittent bug that needs to be fixed by Stardock.  It's happened on several workstations in our office (Windows 10).

I can not reproduce this on my system. I am on Windows 10 V 22H2 OS Build 19045.2965 and Start11 V1.45. Need to know your current Windows 10 and Start11 version? Full version please. Use Winver.exe to get those. Also please post a video showing us the issue. I know it is intermittent, but it might give some hint as what was going on when it happened. Any specific steps to easily reproduce it would help too.

All the computers with the issue are running Windows 10 Pro or workstation 22H2 build 19045.2965 and Start11 v1.45.
I have not been able to reliably replicate the issue on demand yet. One search and it's fine and another search seconds later and it's broken.  This happens about once a month or two.  The only way to fix Start11 in this state is to reboot.  Restarting the Stardock Start11 service or terminating task Start11_64.exe doesn't help.  Here is a screenshot. If I get more info, I will post.   Thank You!
