wbino, do you have any game software protected by SecuRom? Software from EA Games for example.
I have Crysis installed, thats EA.........why do you think there is a connection?
wbino
I never pirate...so as long as it doesnt bog down my gaming machine , I dont mind DRM. You should direct your anger to the thieves who enjoy the medium, but don't want to pay for it.
So in order to beat RA you have to destroy their phase stabilizers and civic centers?
cg49me, LOL
retroboy....your not a DEV are you?
Ironclad or Stardock.... could you please tease us with a screen shot of 1.1's updated graphics for comparison? I excited, but a little nervous that the new graphic's will slow my FPS.
You should not get a new monitor, because it will have a native resolution that will bog down your system. My advice would be to keep current monitor and if you have a pci express motherboard and go for a 8800 and increase your ram by 1 gig. ( 2 total). If not ,take your upgrade money towards a new machine( I just build one for around $ 1200) (quad 2.4 8800gtx) ------THEN you will have a machine that can run games at the higher resolutions that a new monitor will have. Sometimes
I see them fine. White smoke tails............ Maybe it's a graphic detail setting?
The Dunov to me looks like a locomotive.
My vote for worst design wood be the TEC heavy crusier.....you wait to finally build them and their UGLY! It looks like a WW2 tank! (Sherman) Even the pirates heavy cruiser is nicer looking! Maybe something more like Star Treks Defiant maybe?
Now COH in a 4x format where you had to hold ground and conquer areas like SINS and not just individual skirmishes and one 'board', would be pretty awesome. BTW SINS has plenty of small thing moments: Colony ship actualy releases drop ships. Planet traffic. Planet bombardment is 3d with nukes seen rising above planet below. :)
I don't know why people think the graphic's in this game are subpar...I'm a graphic's whore and think the graphics are great. The only thing that bother's me is the ugly TEC heavy cruiser.
CrysaniaIV, My CRT is a cheap 17''with a current setting of 60hz. What would my refresh do to lower my framerates? The only time I noticed ANY slowdown was one huge battle, but I might have had a few programs running in the backround. Like I've said previously, I don't want to push the resolutions too much and get the same FR as a lower card. BTW I could throw another 8800gtx in for SLI , but was gonna wait till they are cheaper. Thanks again everyone.
Aeonism, Whats your processor and do you play with all the bells and whistles on? Also does anyone know what type of graphic improvements they are talking about in the 1.1 update? Thanks.
I in fact have a CRT, and a fairly fast system.(quad 2.6 8800gtx) But I would not want to turn up the resolutions to the point that I was getting the same framerates as I would before I upgraded my PC. I understand that I gain more real estate with higher resolutions...but is it a prettier pic?
What about framerates? Do you dial up the resolution until you see slowdown? I also read somewhere that certain video cards only show their true muscle at higher resolutions.
HM, explain.
I won't bore you with the details of my system, but I do have a question. When you bump up the screen resolution from 1024x768 to 1152x9xx the icons get smaller, but is the added sharpness worth the framerates. Was wondering if people could give the resolutiion their playing at.
Any one else think it would be a great strategic angle to the game if each fleet had an admiral. You decide what ship to put him in, you could have him in the center of action or hidden in some corner of the system? If an admiral is killed, the FLEET has an 10% reduction in dps for like 5 mintues, until another admiral gets promoted. It would be like taking someones Queen in chess.
Hey Sp3ktr3, Ever think that maybe someone is not blessed with your eyesight? And a larger darker font might help? ASS.
I've been playing for about a week, I keep reading in the forums about " focus fire" but I have know idea what it is, could someone clue me in? Also why won't the TEC colony cap ship not aquire vunerable asteriods, only the small frigate colony ship. And what do the higher colony levels in the Akkan do? Thanks
If you put two phase inhibitors in a gravity well, do you double the time ships can phase out? If not would'nt it be great if you could load up on them and basicly trap any fleets that warp in, and the ships would have to destroy the phase inhibitors before they could warp out?
