This has happened several times before but I thought the connectivity update may help with it so I didn't post about it. However, running the latest beta build it just happened again. For whatever reason, sometimes during a game (at a seemingly random point) the game will split into several games with the AI taking over for others. This most recent game was mid-game (level 8ish) 3v3. Out of nowhere (a little lag, but nothing terrible to that point) all of a sudden al

Sorry, my reply wasn't meant to indicate that lane control and minion builds are bad, quite the opposite actually. However, without knowing that people will try this build, get 0 kills, and say it sucks.
Were you playing in a game with high starting money? The only way a level 3 (any demigod) can survive chasing to crystal is if it's a game with high starting money on Prison, *maybe* crucible. If you guys were playing a game with high starting gold then any strategies that would normally work are going to be void because starting with 20,000g changes the game entirely.
The primary thing I would like to see from minions is the ability to tell them to hold position. I find it really annoying when I want to sit out of range of a tower and harass or creep and my priests keep running in and dying to the tower.
Destroying the citadel with bugged land mines will cause the game to not end as well.
Minion builds do a lot of damage and give a lot of lane control but they rarely get killing blows because almost all minions can't shoot at running targets and none (as far as I know) can swing on the run. This means once someone decides to leave the fight they can. That being said, all you have to do is stand back a little ways and let your minions do all the work and you can control a lane and take down towers.
Oh, I thought you dodged it by moving perpendicular. You are saying that you moved behind him before the snipe went off, and the snipe just shot strait through instead?
This really needs to get fixed before beta is pushed to release in my opinion. If the bug makes it to release Regulus becomes unkillable and it will completely ruin the game. The TB one isn't as bad, just really annoying.
I didn't see it cleared up but the way gold/XP for reinforcements works is (as per the LUA): If a demigod and their army (ie: minions and summons) does 25% of the total damage done (not 25% of health, 25% of total damage done) to a reinforcment then when that reinforcement dies a bounty is split amongst all nearby demigods (not just the one who did the damage). Also , if a demigod or their army gets the killing blow on a reinforcement then the bounty for that rei
Would be tough to pull off reliably, though from my limited understanding of the simulation mechanics anything can be dodged really. The trebuche shots are a perfect example, and I think all ranged attacks are the same except some fire faster than others (and therefor are much harder to dodge).
Yeah, there is a thread around here somewhere... I think the steps are to uncheck "show beta/alpha releases" in the Impulse preferences and then right-click the game and choose Verify Install which should tell you that you are broken. After that do a Check for Updates and Demigod should need to be updated. Download the update and you will be back at the non-alpha/beta version.
Kestrel, stop giving away all of my strategies. :( Generals being OP, armor debuff stacking, minion micromanaging... all key parts to my domination. Once people start learning I'll have to go back to playing Queen of Thorns again just to win. :(
In order to tell my friends what game I'm in, it would be nice if the game name were displayed in the lobby somewhere. Alternatively, if the host were highlighted in some way then I could tell them the host name to join by instead.
A friend and me were having the same trouble. It seems that anytime he chooses TB in multiplayer is when he gets it. However, limited test cases so it could have been coincidence.
Demigod is easily modded (most of the code is in LUA), but you can only have one mod installed at a time and you can't play regular demigod if the mod is installed. I heard a while back that UI-only mods would be able to play against retail clients, but I have never tested this nor do I know the extent of it.
If someone disconnects after the final scoreboard is up (disconnect dialog appears) the disconnect UI will appear under the final scoreboard and the scoreboard will be un-interactable (can't go to main menu). When this happens the DC dialog never goes away either, it seems to stay up for several minutes (until I force exit the application).

I got Cox blocked. :(
Turns out that Cox DNS was resolving irc.stardock.net to 70.168.70.5. When I use the IP a friend resolves to (38.98.152.138) it works fine. I'll be updating my hosts file to work around this, but for anyone else with Cox and this problem try connecting by IP instead.
I am unable to connect to irc.stardock.com from my computer (via Impulse or third party IRC client. However, I am able to connect to other IRC servers. What port is irc.stardock.com running on? 6666 I'm assuming? Does anyone else have trouble (using Cox)?
Just happened again running the latest beta (the ImpulseReactor update). It was 4v4, one guy lagged out when he did another one went with him (I'm guessing he didn't want to wait for the lagger to D/C). Then about a minute later someone said they were going to drop out (didn't want to play with 2 AI on his team) and when he did I got disconnected from everyone. My two friends who I was playing with were still in the game and said I dropped at the same time as he did. <p
Erebus gets health from biting a queen's shield and an immune oak.
I'm looking at this from a "worst case" scenario of a team full of Erubi. If it's a mixed team then you should be able to take one lane and fight over any leftover flags in which case they aren't out-warranking you early-game. In this "worst case" the Erubi are pushing all your flags and you are hanging back at your towers mostly defending. They will get some early war rank on you, yes, but the idea is that you don't give up kills early game so you can make it to mid-game
There is a small competative community from beta that still plays. Some of them just destroy random teams all day and others compete against each other. That being said, I don't know if they want to be "outed" or not so I'll keep their hiding place a secret unless one of them wants to invite you guys publicly... I just wanted to let you know that there are good players (some with vent, some without) out there, just not very many. I would add you to my friends list but it (
Early game Erebus can't push towers so just hang back at your towers (except on Prison, which is a different game from the rest). If you aren't feeding him then all he is getting are more ranks of bite, not a bunch of gear on top of that. Mid-game you want to still play defensively, but several other demigods start to be able to stand up to him and depending on your team makeup and theirs you may want to swap lanes to put someone strong against him mid-game in his lane to try an
