Has anyone else experienced this and perhaps found a solution? I had not played this in a while (since before 1.2 release) and went to re-load a save game. This would not progress past the 'generating map' load screen. I assumed this to be a compatibility issue with the save so decided to start the tutorial again from scratch. Same thing occurred though. So then I started a new campaign, and again I get the spinning galaxy and the 'generating map' message,

I found that the default in the graphics settings for ground cover after the initital steam install was 'none' (or very little) and not normal as in the past. You can up the ground cover in the settings to get it back.

Zubaz, Note that the OP states he is in 2.0 and is experiencing this issue. I am pointing out that this issue also occurs in 1.x and is obviously something in the legacy product 2.0 must be built on. So if this is 'known' when will it be addressed in 2.0, which obviously isn't quite Win8 ready, because I sure will not be buying it with this current behavior.

This initital hidden state, or slow loading, is a Win8 problem that others have experienced. I noted in the other thread ( https://forums.stardock.com/436973 ) that it wasn't just slow loading, but sometimes requires right click to make appear. I am still in the version 1.x release, so this isn't unique to Fences 2.0 by any means.

I have this issue too. Sometimes its up in about 15 seconds, sometimes its many minutes (same machine). What I have noticed however, when I spot it didn't load if I right click the desktop (which I assume forces a refresh) bing! (pun intended) the fences and my icons appear. Does anyone else see that? It's acting like it's loaded by not displaying until forced. Anyhow, it's a pain and I hope it will be fixed somehow.

Well, if you purchased WOF then there was something that appealed about it that you wanted. This time I think you'll get what you expected the first time :-)

$70!!! Considering we already own the game this is simply too much. I truly thought that the offer to pre-order fans would only be perhaps $30-$40 ADDITIONAL over the game cost, not a further $69.99 . It may be at cost, but it has lost appeal to me now. Any chance the music CDs will be available sperately at some point? That is what I really wanted anyhow.

Can anyone confirm that there is any benefit in running dual GPU (SLI) in Rebellion. I know it is not developed specifically to take advantage of this, but I wondered if it has any effect at all. Rebellion is about the only thing I play lately, and I am considering getting a matching card for my current. However if there is little gain I will not rush out to get one right away as the price will half in just months I'm sure. But if Sins gets a visual boost I&#3

That is exactly what's wrong thanks. Sure enough if I move the save from the .75 location to the .62 it is available in game. Sadly it isn't compatible and causes the game to crash on loading. I can only hope that saves are compatible if older and can recover this if they release .75 or greater again. Ba timing for me though. I installed on .62, didn't notice that it had updated briefly (though do recall that on one occasion the game t

I just encountered the same thing. Not very funny if it's an April fool. But I don't think it is. It's still the same version of the beta build, so I can't imagine why it suddenly stopped displaying the saves in game. Bloody annoying, I was very close to getting my first Titan too (not had the game more than 48 hrs yet). I hope this gets resolved, or at least explained!

I get what nomorebeef is saying, logically shopping while 4 or 5 tiles away from the town border makes no sense. But then as pointed out by seanw3, Travelling merchants could explain that. So how about earning those merchants via the tech tree. Early game challenges being made harder by having to limit where you can trade until such time that a civics tech gives you that benefit. Seems like the realistic scenario to me.

I seem to remember a thread that stated (or implied) that the remaining downloads for the Destiny's Embers book exclusives required 1.3 to be complete in order to be released. Now that we have this update will the DE stuff be following shortly? Are they still planned?

Perhaps you could tell us what your expectations are, or at the very least your level of experience at these types of games. The reason I state this is becuase of what you will see in response to this kind of question, either 'yes' or 'no, because'. In my opinion, if you are a hardcore gamer of these types of games, it's not quite there yet. Lots of postings about balance issues (yeah, there are some annoying bugs too, but 1.19 coming this week will be better still) at low levels that

Yes I'd like one too. I assume that with all the work on 1.1+ that things would have to be delayed. I'd also assume that the Desitnys Embers updates will have to be tied to a specific version, so with 1.2 in the works we may have to wait just a while more. I'm keen to get it, but patient too. I would just like to see an update one way or another to help set expectation (I don't believe I have missed any announcement on this - but if so I apologize).
