I disagree because I don't want the current situation of (fantasy) tbs limit the potential of Elemental. If I want a fantasy Civ IV, I have a famous mod out there. I feel the need to be offered something that try to push the limits and increase our possibilities in the game (no, don't use the argument of "fun", "balanced" and such because they are already implicit). Maybe I'm just spoiled by Dark Avatar and Twilight of the Arnor.
When has

This is something that should be abstracted if it's put in at all. A single manpower stat and if it gets low/over drawn you get the negative effects. Loss of productivity (ie pulling men out of mines and into the army) and after that loss of population growth (ie drafting women). Really they should just concentreate on the core concepts, few enough good turn based strategy games out there right now, no need to add lots of exotic concepts that add few, if any, benefits. And yea

Isn't this against the core concept somewhat? If an ordinary soldier can kill the Sovereign [theoretically], how come that he has no morale at all? What I don't agree with is that it's a good thing nor that it "isn't DRM". True, copy protection don't stop pirates and Impulse wont stop anyone who really wants to distribute the patches either, but yeah, for the casual pirate it becomes more of a hassle, if they feel that they need the patches that is.

Yeah, if Stardock goes bankrupt and EA buys the IP, good luck seeing that patch then... Or in a couple of years, you might have lots and lots of games to unprotect, who is going to spend all that time removing those checks and recompiling whole games? Not to mention getting several gigabytes of stand alone patches out there. edit: Exhanged BK for bankrupt.
Obviously your users on their own would chose to have the patch delivered by carrier pigeon, one bit at the time, if they were left to their own devices. Thrawn2787: Why shouldn't I blame impulse? It is impulse that doesn't work and a program that I as a customer doesn't want. I'm not saying the environment that impulse has to work in isn't complex and that there are several factors that can impact it, but then why force it on your customers? And yes, its new, another reason NOT to FORCE it on your customers. Frogboy: Yeah, I'm sure you have solved _some_ problems. Many seem to still have problems though. In my case for example. Re

I just want to add my vote to "it should be over"-option. In multiplayer it will probably prevent a lot of tedious mop up. And imo really hard choices are good for the depth of a TBS.

Or the other way around, slaves are usually given food and housing, so maybe slavery is just work were you don't get paid more than that? Thus no morality issue?
I think the questions are poorly phrased. Could I kill someone in the mentioned circumstances? Yes, I think I could. Would I do it? No, I would not. You can rephrase the basic question in infinite ways. For example, do you think it is ok to do lethal experiments on homeless people if it might lead to a cure for cancer? <a id="ctl00__Content__RepeaterReplies_ctl11__LinkUser" class="hand" title="Click user name to view more options." onclick="Sd.Menus.showMenu('userMenu11
