At first when it was revealed that if I wanted a Lumia up here in Canada I'd have to be ok with the matte black variety I wasn't too thrilled. After a few weeks of use I am convinced other than the cyan (the other matte finish colour) it was the right choice. The black means that the screen and the phone look seamless. MadDeez, The Lumia has a built-in "Transfer my Data" app which should take care of your contacts etc. I didn't use it however, as instead I opted to try the NFC (near field communications) aspect of the 920 and because my wife and I have some contacts the same I just held the the two lumia's back to back and "beamed" the contacts etc. from one phone to the other.
