I can't stand Steam. I was given Empire: Total War as a Christmas gift, and I have only played it twice. Because of Steam. Why do I have to be logged onto the internet to play a game I paid for? This is the same reason I will NOT be buying Diablo III. Forcing me to be online to play a game that I bought to play on my computer is not acceptable. If I want to be online, I'll buy an online game. I love Stardock; I've enjoyed every game I've bought fro

I voted Poor for the reasons I posted in this thread: https://forums.stardock.com/423742 I haven't been able to play a game past 30 or 40 turns because of those problems.
Kongdej, I would love any tips anyone can give me. To reiterate my original post: Difficulty : Easy or Normal. Monster frequency : Moderate (default). I WANT to be able to fight monsters, to build up my custom sovereign and give experience to any units that can accompany the sovereign. What I find unplayable is monsters that are FAR stronger than I am within
I think I missed something in the posts about Beta 3. I gather from other posts that monsters are supposed to be more aggressive in this version. Here's my experience: Have started over a dozen games, on both Easy and Normal difficulty levels. Moderate monster frequency (the default). EVERY SINGLE GAME I have started since downloading Beta 3, there are monsters within 3 squares of my starting city. Every single game I encounter a monster within 10 squares of t
In one recent game I played, every time I encountered a bear it succeeded with the first attack and then made 4 consecutive Maul attacks. I only dodged successfully on the 5th Maul. This happened at least twice each in three different battles. Not once did my unit dodge until it had taken 5 attacks. Even groups die quickly when they take that much damage. I find it exceedingly unbalanced when something as low-value as a bear can do enough damage to kill itself in one batt
I am quite enjoying the beta, but then I pretty much loved WoM too. I do have two things to suggest for improvement. First, SPEED. I've said it before, but the game is SLOWWWW. I know that it's beta, and as a programmer the thing I hate to hear most is that a program is slow. That's the hardest thing to program for, in my experience. However, when it takes 10 seconds to react when I click on the end-of-turn event popup, the delay becomes insanely annoying. And
