Modern apps have been closing on me unexpectedly with 8.1.1. Here's what my event log says about this: App terminated itself by calling terminateApp API. App details are as follows: Display Name: , AppUserModelId: Package Identity: PID: . The API was called from the context of the following HTML document: &

I have a folder that contains about a dozen shortcuts of my favorite apps. I added it via Advanced under Configure After I boot up Windows it takes a long hover to display my shortcuts as flyouts, longer than Control Panel and Administrative Tools which are also menus. How can I speed up things?

I don't have to run a Modern app to see this behavior. Also, if memory serves me correct, I was always able to see the W8 mini Start window even before I installed MM. It took some work positioning the pointer just right on the lower left of my screen. After 1.05 it is now very easy to bring up the window. To be honest CSM has so many more options than Start8 however I'll give Start8 another try now.

My problem is being caused by using this program to disable hot corners http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.103 I re-enabled the hot corners and MSC works fine now. MSC is the first new app I ran after I first started using this program so perhaps that''s why my 'old' metro apps worked.

The first time I run MSC in modern mode I create a windowed shortcut. Running it brings up MSC in a window. All is well at this point. If I then exit MSC and fire it up again I see the windowed mode flash on my screen for a second and then I am thrown into the ModernUI Start screen. Any ideas? My other apps work fine in Windowed mode. I believe this is a new version of MSC, fwiw.

Close now means close. Thanks for this feature.

I'm getting EL errors like the one below of all apps that go through ModernMix. App Microsoft.BingWeather_8wekyb3d8bbwe!App did not launch within its allotted time.

I looked into this more closely. Even though the app appears on the left side after closing, it does not appear in Task Manager. So it seems after you close the app it remains as a sort of recent programs type of thing.

Reply to DPI awareness? in MyColors

If that's the case it ought to be changed. With larger and larger widescreen LCD monitors the normal 96dpi has become to small for many of us.

The stacks docklet doesn't work too well when your dock is at the top of the screen which the picture indicates. Seems the flyouts only want to go up and not down. Personally I would like to be able to use stacks on my tabbed dock on the top of my screen.

Personally I just gave up using WB. Just too many little gotchas mostly visual. Fonts are usually to small and making them bigger creates other problems. I'll stick to Aero.

I don't use Feeds. When I first display a drop down favorite group all the entries have the arrow for a second and then the sites that have a Favicon lose the arrow. All except one site, MSNBC, which has an arrow for some reason. Using normal Aero theme there are no arrows.

Why do I get these arrows on my drop down Favorites Menu in IE7 (Vista)? They only appear for sites that do not have a Favicon associated with them. All my WB themes do this. Running the very latest WB version.

I am running Vista Ultimate x32. I only started having this problem in the past few days or so. Maybe it was an MS update? I tried booting up without my usual programs and still had the problem. The delay works nice. Another way is to manually start OD once Vista is up. Must be something interfering with this feature at startup. While the autohide is now working the mouseover text will at some point start displaying underneath any window that is covering the text area.
