Some of the latest from Cybersober come to mind
Most of the new deskscapes don't have decoders to run them. Trying to navigate Microsoft for updates is pretty much impossible. Could you please simply add the decoders needed to run your deskscapes to the software and not just 'leave it up to us users to figure out'? So frustrating.
So the whole game feels half baked. Fimbul got it right. The battle section is broken, got to auto battle everything. The hardness of the game is locked into "Pain", trying to keep a colony happy is not possible. I had such high hopes for this, I was ready for a MOO like game and having a designer with a popular game behind him looked like a winner. Such a disappointment.
Ah, thanks for the replys, I thought it had been released already. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
I preordered the game, now am wondering how to get the beta...? Any thoughts? Thanks for the help!
Could I please request a Zip version of this? I tried the the 7z thing and just can't figure it out. Thanks
Strongly suggest you get a mod to give yourself more $ when you play homeworld. It's a cheat of course but wow, much more fun imo. :D
So.... to fix Diplomacy what do we want? Looking at the thread I think we're saying: a) We want a refuse command for missions? b) We want the effects of completing missions raised? c) We want a way of influecing empire attitudes effectively without warring against another? hmmm. What I want is a diplomacy model similar to the old Masters of Orion model... :)
Thanks for the replies, started over and got a much easier to see what's going on color. :) I appreciate the help and am eagerly looking forward to your mod, kcissem.
Hi, played the beta several times and had an Orange "Homeworldish" background and all was fine. When I play the finished SINS now I always get a Space background thats "realistic" and too dark. I really miss the old orange space background, is there any way to get it back?
Perhaps including something like the Homeworld series has, that lets us customize our fleets colors and all would be a nice addition....
Believe it or not when you use the Windows XP program compatability wizard and set it for Win 95 it runs Star Legions quite well. I was using Dosbox, but tried the XP program comp. wiz just to see and it actually runs it better. I appreciate your response, even in a single player real time game I'd devote time to ship construction design. Or perhaps design outside of the game and i
These are just things that I enjoy in the game that I'd like to see more of. a) Enhanced tech tree. Playing tons of space games over the years I've come to love having tons of choices for tech research. Dev's, look at SE IV and Sword of the Stars or the MOO lines for ideas. Having mulitiple ways to go enhances replayability immensely. b) Better UI for fleet control. As I'm growing more comfortable with larger and larger games I see a growing need for a Planet list and a fle
One strategy that I use that is working is fortifying choke planets/asteroids. Any asteriod or planet that has 3 or more warp lines going to it I make into a fortress zone. 1 or 2 gauss cannons and 6-8 hangers and a warp inhibitor. 10-12 bombers micromanaged on one at a time pirate targets destroys them in record time. Seems to work...
Hi guys, thought I'd share some reflections on the game after my first game was completed. a)A balanced fleet is a necessity. Against one opponent I absolutely had to invest in a lot flac frigates to overcome their bombers. Against another I needed the support crusier liberally in my fleet to help recover against damages. I'd read somewhere on these forums that a basic frigate zerg was all you needed, I found that not so. b) Culture rules. If I didn't have cultural influenc
