All increasing the address space will accomplish is a delay of the inevitable. You'll get crashes, just not quite as frequent.

I think it's a reference to how much video memory it will use for textures. If you've got a good video card you can raise it. I believe the second number is the reference to the video memory your card actually has. I raised mine to 8000 or whatever and it never accepted it. When I lowered it to 2048 which is how much ram my card has the setting stuck. According to Cari you'll get increased performance by raising it as long as your card can handle it.

You need rep level 1 (and no clue how to properly describe it or even say where you find it) to marry. It's something that can happen very early, then you can get those kiddies squeezed out, it takes them a while to grow up to be useful. To marry an NPC you don't have to be anywhere nea

[quote quoting="post"] I only play on large maps and I've started a lot of games (because of patches, trying to learn the game, dissatisfaction with the map setup, etc.). The conclusion is pretty clear: I run into the AI too soon (even with just 4 opponents) and my empire ends up being 3-4 cities at most before I have to start thinking about war. This goes back to my earlier complaints about just how small this game feels overall (few cities, few units, small maps). <br
Cari said in the chat last night that they'd scrapped the damage resistance system because it would've been too complicated to convey to the user. When I asked about the possibility of modding the combat system via XML Kryo basically said that it wasn't likely as the combat system was hardcoded in. So currently it's not something we can fix ourselves. The remnants of the old system are still there in the XML according to a few people so maybe we can convince them to hook it back up again.
When discussing this in the chat with Kryo, he told me not to expect the unlimited stacking functionality to stay in the game. So chances are item stacking is going to be very limited soon enough. Right now I just limit myself to 1 neck 1 backpack and 2 rings. I made the crazy champion with 1,000 rings and while amusing, it was definitely gamebreaking.

Notice they don't tell how many ai opponents they used or that they moved up to ridiculous level and won so easily. I just started one on a medium map with 9 ai opponents with map level at hard and 1 ai opponent on extreme and 1 ai opponent at ridiculous and it certainly wasn't easy. We work together with our fellow gamers and keep the game evolving over time. That's why Galactic Civilizations was such a success. Same thing (there's a game that shipped with no campaign, no tutorial, and no tool tips even). Hard core only. The
There's a little sword/shield icon/button thing just to the right of the bottom center of the screen when you've got your unit selected. That opens up the equipment. I believe it's on the little picture around where it tells you the groups combat rating.
You can make your kingdom an Empire faction but you've gotta edit the XML files manually and change the triggers. I compared the empires in the coreraceconfig.XML file in the main directory to the new one and made the appropriate changes.
In case you haven't discovered this yet, when you go to the item shop there is a sell tab in the top right so you can sell old gear.
[quote quoting="post"] Has anyone found a way to see the Wisdom stat of a Champion BEFORE making them a mage? Its was VERY annoying to waste 3/4 Essence to find the guy had a wisdom of 5, meaning he couldn't cast in combat at all. Do the mana/health regeneration values show anywhere? Is there a use for the "Destiny's Sliver" item or is it just to be sold? How come i either get LOTS of "Midnight Stones" & no quests for them or 0 stones & multi
Brad has already mentioned many times that there would be a 64 bit version coming out and that it would be a free update to the game. 64 bit versions specifically would be allowed to run with much larger maps.
I actually ran into a crazy powerful drake. I've got the screenshot but the link is at home so I can't post it yet. He was level 132 something like 2.8 million attack 9 million hp 800,000 combat moves Pack drake, the terror of the northern shores. Cari asked me to put the save on dropbox for them and you might want to do the same for the support forum so they can figure out what causes the god creatures to manifest.
Unfortunately the graphical settings aren't really something that can help many of us having issues. For example if I zoom into the 3d map my GPU use goes to 0%. That's right, when the game requires my video card the most, it doesn't actually call on it to do any of the work. *shrug* the cloth map works fine and I'm happily awaiting the fix to come through. I've no doubts it's partly the fault of ATI, their drivers have always been pretty bad.
Now having spent a decent number of hours exploring the game and playing through some maps I feel like it's time to lay out my feelings for the various sections of the game as well as ideas for the devs (or modders that are more experienced than myself) to consider. I'm one of those lucky ATI 64 bit people that get the OOM crashes and horrible performance on the 3d map because the game stops utilizing my GPU when I zoom in. Despite these problems I've still enjoyed all my time play
Not sure why the debug file says my video card has 744 mb of video ram, it's got 2 gb. Pastebin for the Crash: http://pastebin.com/WqxkEjuS FPS issues happen whenever I try to enter the 3d map in the presence of a town. Shouldn't really be having that issue with this system and noticed others were having the same problems so I came to throw my system config into the mix for you.
[quote who="DocAquatic" reply="28" id="2727614"]Personally, I don't mind it, just because the game ends up feeling like a post-apocalyptic empire- building strategy game and, frankly, I think that's way more awesome.
