Its a nightmare scenario, you both have caps and his cap is at 2357 health and yours is at 2034 health and your hoping the extra 2 cobalts you have will make up the 323 damage difference before your cap dies and your doing the calculations in your head and your constantly moving your mouse back and forth between the caps , thinking if he was at this damage 2 seconds ago and im at this damage , and he gets damaged 102 per second and i get damaged 83 per second , and your at the point of no retrea

A noob will always try to make paper when you make rock. He will always try to make scissors when you make paper. He will always try to make rock when you make scissors. A skilled played will always try to make what you make. He will beat your rock with his rock , beat your scissors with his scissors , beat your paper with his paper and when your forced to counter with something else , he will know exactly what it is and beat you with the counter's own counter. Ahh yes inhibitors.... once a powerful tactical tool now didly squat useless in all but very very resource high games. People are forgetting that the Vasari are supposedly the masters of phase technology. Im betting they might have something like a special-ability deathtrap on their inhibitors. TEC shouldnt be given such a powerful tool when their strengths lie in economic techs.
Theres added irony. When he kills your capship his capship will probably be on its way to achieving Level 5 status by the time you get your next capship out. One idea I have , is the first capship you make will be denoted as your "flagship". If your flagship dies , the title officially goes to the second ship you have built or will build and it automatically gains Level 3 status if previously lower. This way if your first cap dies , your second cap will automatically be Level 3. <b
could the command lag be due to your location where you live? the host might be in a place that has bad hops to where you live. Dont think it is location. I had a game today where I hosted with samrec (swiss). I am UK . He had a really bad command lag that fluctuated between 1.75 seconds to 5 seconds. As I was host I did not have any command lag. I use a netgear router which is quite modern and uses uPnP . I do not portfoward
If you guys make a startrek mod , ill cry with joy. end
Reason why progressive spending isnt used is because a player is likely to overwhelm himself and make everything screech to a stall.
Dont think ive ever broken 500 on a fleet cap at 600 my pc would probably melt so thats a good thing.
if I did id probably would have led my team with better coordination Not to nitpick, but being the only one who left without even 'losing' anything, the implication that you would've been a good 'leader' is quite farfetched The attitude just doesn't match that.
psy... a ping of 250 is dialup ive had the command lag now and again as well, i think its just hosty lag had the loading problem as well, iunno why i didnt mention it In FPS maybe. In RTS games , 250 is quite modest for broadband. The command lag doesnt feel right because the game is smooth and theres no fluctating with my ping. I know another game I had this command lag and my ping was 170 which is pretty good.
so I dont know why Ron is so sour at me. Because you could still have made a nasty fight of it? So what, you lost your fleets. Build new ones, and raid -- force us to "waste" resources on defenses. Build up intelligently placed defenses, which the AI can't do. jeez im sorry you guys were thinking this game was suppose to be epic. Maybe I should have tried harder and I guess really im just regretti
Im still getting the command delay bug in multiplayer. Usually a 2-3 second delay on my mouse clicks. Its making the game unplayable. The game is smooth and my connection is very fast. I can have a ping of 200-300 and still have the bug. Is there still networking things that can be improved?
THis is just a brag replay, nothin really epic about it and I cared pretty little. I quit because I had command lag. Anything i pressed would only respond 5 seconds later , which sucks , thats why I said my game was gimped. When I quit it was already late into the game, the game was already 4v3 since Darth had quit very early , and poor and my other ally had no fleets so it was pretty much us waiting to die so I dont know why Ron is so sour at me. ps - I manage to get another game
I think what the OP meant is to have a beta similar to Supreme Commanders. In supcoms , you didnt have to pre-order. You just had to get a key and join for free. Those who did apply for the key to join were mostly beta-testers who were expecting bugs , broken gameplay and stuff needin fixes . However there were a few "10 year old kids" who did nothing productive for the beta.
Alot of people are finding it easier to use SDC. problem atm , with only few testers , is that you go online..wait 5 mins, nobody is there. Leave. 2 minutes later someone else goes on and finds the same thing and leaves. Then another goes on and misses him and leaves. This is mostly what happens during GMT peaktimes. Eastcoast peaktimes is okay. I would suggest we all log into SDC irc chat ( type /join #sins ) because its easier to wait longer in the IRC chatroom whilst you do
One thing I like to see in some teamgames is your team starts in one system and the other team starts in another system. Not saying that I particulary want to use this online , but more so for LAN play or singleplayer. In online however , I can see the merits of having 1 system completely populated and 1 or 2 unpopulated systems as human players will fight for the empty systems with equal desire.
I agree with OP. I think there should be options to distribute players how you want ,and default setting should have distribution completely random.
ha , I can rush even more now . Thanks kosc!
Could I get that artic planet removed as an option. Its causing me alot of chat lag in the lobby ( probably cpu related ). Once i finished playing a game it goes to a black space background and I dont lag . I prefer it like that. Also I was giving commands in a game and they only registered 4 seconds later even tho the game was quite smmooth , I wonder if its connected to having to render the Artic planet in ICO. thansk
I love it when the AI says "why am I here ,and you are not?"
I reckon its going to be a Vasari special ability on one of its cap ships - maybe the Lv6 ability . It be good to be deathtrap and offcourse it takes up antimatter and has a long cooldown so its not going to be overpowered and eventually the enemy will be able to leave the area or kill that cap first. It be a really good tactical ploy.
Second Version. It looks overlappy , because its squished and done in paint , but wont be if done in Sins. New suggested Phaselanes (in blue) and new asteroid belts , could improve the neutral cat and mouse battlefield by allowing faster jumps to the other side and more access to the sun.
6 Player Map - Reason for this map , is that there are NO small scale 6 player maps available online atm. Key : White Circle = Random Planet Green = Terran Homeworld Brown = Desert Grey Dots = Planet Asteroid Black Dots = Asteroid Belt GreenCross = Pirates Best for : FFA , 2v2v2 , 3v3 The Nature of this map allows players to first get good resources from their safe desert and a
Actually, a 'destroyer' hull would be between a frigate and a cruiser, I believe, in current naval terms Not that I'm opposed to the idea! Agree. True but what would you rather have <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Tongue.gif" border=0
Destroyer Class Ships. Somewhere inbetween cruisers and battleships. - Sports 2 special abilitys - Can gain expierence - Cost less supply compared to equivalent frigates but costs more resources then equivalent frigates. I.e it goes easy on the supply , but costs a bit too much. - Doesnt hold fighters or bombers - Tend to be more heavy weaponed then heavy armoured compared to equivalent battleships - On the Research Tree , One research unlocks Destroyers and it is a
