In Sins Lore , are the TEC the human race. Does earth exist in the sins universe? And if so , when there is a campaign ,are you going to introduce earth and stuff into the storyline?
I would also like to get some more opinions and personal strategies employed by other players. Not that Raging Amish's aren't well conceived, it would just be more beneficial to hear more than one take on the subject. Don't be shy now
Ok heres my take , but im usually alot more theoretical about it. My intial answer to trade ports is this. I build trade according to three things - The Tempo of my allies , The personality of the enemy and The situation of the enem

With my maps , the emphasis is on... A size which is practical for multiplayer 4v4 games. Similar size to Large Random. I dont do 100+ planets multi-star because its impractical. - Increase drop chance , increase lag , increase length (players have to go). A uniqueness to each map , so players can identify with the map. A strategical theme , to give players a solid foundation on which to be creative. Good starting positions so that teams are with their own si

Woah , hey badchopper. Wierd meeting someone here I just played 30 minutes ago. You noticed how I had go through extraordinary lengths to get a proper 4 vs 4 on Aerolian sector to work. If ironclad made an effort to actually fix the map positions or give an option for fixed positions , it would have made things alot easier.

Lets put everything into perspective . People in Sins online are generally very mature. I go online almost everyday and Ive only ever been in a few situations where theres someone being an asshole and even then , it didnt really bother me. Its so rare , it shouldnt be a reason preventing you from going online if you do want to go online. Most of those who say its assholes thats preventing them from going online ,have developed negative connotations from other game expierences. Im
1. Concern that people will send out virsuses disguised as the game's map files (which are text files).
Yea I thought this too , but the chances of this happening is very unlikely. Has never happened in the 4 online RTS games ive played - TA Spring , Supcom , Homeworld 2 , Empire at War ,
2. Concern that some cretins will ruin other people's mulitplayer experiences by making (intentionally) imbalanced maps.
Yea this is true too

Yea , but sometimes you get a remaining player who decides do some zoomed in sight-seeing until they are dead. Ive sometimes begged players on the losing team to just quit and end the game. Even tell them its okay if they quit instead of surrender , just so the game will end.

/Signed. Having auto-map download is no-brainer when the actual map file is 20k in size. They say its possible , and the only thing stopping people from auto-transfering galaxy forged maps is permission settings. I expect this feature to be in 1.1. Without it , it might be time for me to move on to other games as I enjoy 4 vs 4 games but do not like having to play Large Random everytime. I also expect Twin Empires positions to be fixed for 4 vs 4 play . Takes me 20 sec

The Irony in multiplayer is that if a losing player doesnt quit the game , the game can essentially take hours to mop up. Ive rarely won a game that involved killing everything , especially after the siege nerf.

The way I view mp is that its not suppose to just be about fun which people complain it can lack. Like being competitive in sports where you are good at the game , your not actually looking to have "fun" in the blissful way , your looking to test the limits of your physical and mental abilities. Its only human nature to want to discover yourself , improve your attributes , learn new things and be victorious in any way no matter how trivial . It seems theres a misunderstanding that humans should

You can never change the attitude of a noob. Except for one thing , and I implore Ironclad to do this , because the current win/loss system is crap. Basically reward In-game time. The more hours you clock inside a game , the higher your rank . This means even if your losing , if you stay in the game you gain more rank.

There are 5 Stages to a game if your skilled online player - Pre-Military : Before you can get LRMs . All are equal simply because its risky to attack pre-military anyway. TEC might have the edge because of Sova rush. TEC = Vasari = Advent - Post-Military : Once you get LRMs . Different phases.... Early goes quickly. Early : Vasari > TEC > Advent(who havent got theirs up yet) Late : Advent > TEC > Vasari - Cruiser/Support-St

Can Ironclad put in a feature where the other players get to decide if an AI can take over. Forexample - If a player has to go , or a disconnect - then Yes . If a player quits like noob - then No. Ive seen some hilarious situations where a newb ally kicks the crap out of an enemy noob, the noob quits and an AI takes over that proceeds to come back and kill my newb ally , because simply the AI does something a newb doesnt do - Build More Ships.

@raging I would assume this strat would require the first 2 phase missle upgrades to be pulled off. Im trying to think however , with the Advent cap , its advantage is that its already lined up broadside meaning its fastest escape is perpendicular to the battle. The advantage of this is that when your assailants chase this cap sideways , this opens up the assailants to 2-3x beam attacks. I might try the anti-cap strat and see how it works tho.

@ Amish Ok I forgot about the nano ability. Ok so yes , vasari would get the enemy capship. But I think at what cost. How many assailants would the illums beable to kill in the time it takes to down the capship. I would say its alot. Maybe not enough to cost the same as a capship? , but then enough for the fleet difference to be so wide any newly built assailants becomes exponentially less effective. (Using the theory of 2 ships vs 1 ship , the 1 ship dies but only 1/2 damage o

Some people here have stated their reason for not going online is because they fear they might not be good enough for multiplayer. Just to tell you the skill level expected. If you can partner a Medium AI vs 2 Medium AI on Kronocs Cross , locked teams and win , you will probably be in the top 50% skill bracket. If you can beat a Hard AI 1 vs 1 , you will probably be in the top 25% skill bracket. The online standard is really really low.
