Ive got 1.09 installed. Its 11pm GMT Sunday and theres 14 players on (2 in-lobby , 12 in-game ) Its not really peak time for everyone, but when it was just 1.05 , there would be atleast 80 - 100 players at this time with atleast 1 game to join instantly. Can anyone report on the number of players at peak time in 1.05?
P5yy
4v4 , ally quits game but I didnt notice.... I then spent half the entire game ranting at the AI to move his arse. I even called him a coward , which is ironic.
Question... I am moving to 1.09
One big tip. Dont colonise a planet unless you see 150 metal or more in your account.
you could make a post suggesting that they include map positioning and better map support. They could easily be working on those right now!
That would be something they should work on to include IN the beta , so people can start beta testing the feature. This suggestion was stated since the release version. Ironclad can atleast tell us that this feature is going to be included , or not included rather then let the community strangle itself with arguments just like in this
Too bad you cant drag the window anywhere you want. Id drag it over the bottom left bit which is useless to me.
Ive been putting over in a very kind constructive voice about how map position choice and auto-transfer of maps will go a long way to helping the mp community. Rather then flame , ive explained the benefits and the downfalls , using my expierence in the online community. I have 2x commanderadamas activity online lol :P. To no avail I get no reponse from Ironclad even tho theres a hugh support for this idea. So im not suprised other players are trying a different tact to get a r
... whatever
Finally TheMonk can start playing Sins
So effectively you can build a fighter squadron , then once full , cancel it , and build a bomber squadron , then you will have both a Fighter squadron and a Bomber squadron even tho it just says 1/1 for strikecraft. Is this a bug or on purpose?
In 1024 resolution , it blocks off too much of the screen. 1200 resolution its slightly better. Any way to minimise this? no Graph? thats what people use when they buy and sell. What about selling to other players.
Im hoping they will get it up by lunch time today
Looks like a singleplayer game... What mistakes did you do , and what have you actually learnt except : "He's my view: we won because we had twice as many ships."
I still do not think that people should be able to pick individual start locations. Team starting positions perhaps (which for FFA is the same), but not individual positions. This will stop placing team mates in pre-defined start positions and thereby stopping team build orders for certain maps.
The way player_index works , is that players are randomised within each index. So if players 1-4 were in team_index 1. They will be randomised in all available team_index
Most new players turtle , but they suck at turtling. Just like if they tried to rush or do any strat vs a better player , they would suck at that too. Theres no problems with turtling in this game , its just people dont learn how to do it properly because they dont have the fundamental RTS skills such as simple scouting , assessing the risk , location of enemies , tracking of their fleets..etc. Blindly pouring cash into defense structures at every planet you own is the newb way of turtl
What bugs me is when people that join a game, quit within the first 5 minutes. They are not even being attacked yet.
I fear this quitting habit the most. This is basically the culture that plagues Microsoft Hearts online. Because its so anonmynous , people will quit the moment the game starts because their first hand sucks. They just continue to quit games and restart until they join a game where their first hand is decent.
Auto upload means someone can host a Galaxy Forge Map they have created , and people do not need the map downloaded before hand inorder to join the game because the map auto-downloads to them from the host. Sins already does this with Custom maps ,but not with Galaxy Forged maps . map sizes are 15-30k. Games such as the Homeworld 2 , feature auto-download of maps. Mp positions are supposedly a joke because its random spawn. In some occasions this is good because it encourages
Ill use this opportunity to ask Ironclad to please add the auto-upload for maps in 1.1 , and maybe to sort out the map positions with options. It will help the mp community so much
1 more day of mid-july!
I agree with the OP. However he missed a few out 1) Not Communicating with Allies. I know everyone has the right to be silent when playing, but when joining a mp teamgame you should be prepared to type and communicate with Allies. I really hate those who join teams who cannot be arsed to type and talk to teammates .Sometimes for the whole game your trying to get a response from these people and finally they break the silence with something like "what!" as if it
Kodiak sucks. I think saying that the TEC ship is suppose to look like eyesores is an excuse. I draw on this analogy Da Vinci can draw a beautiful painting of an ugly old women. Just because its an old ugly women doesnt mean the painting is bad. In the same way , just because the Kodiak is an old worn out industrial ship refitted for battle, doesnt mean the design has to suck in the way it does. I would say that its possible to have a great design for the Kod
Tell me your ideas and we can create the maps then add them to the mappack. Ive had this before in Homeworld 2 , where people would give me ideas and I use it as a template to create a design off.
Bah! I don't want to spend a ton of money buying upgrades for my machine just to play one game. This thing is only two years old it can't already be going extinct in terms of performance D=. Thats teh lame.
Your graphics card is letting down your processor. Infact its a waste of your processor to have a Geforce 4 paired up with it. Upgrade your graphics card to something like a 7800GS and you will have a decent system.
Just to simplify the protocol... If Player wants to Quit , he says "I have lost" Teammates will then either do... a) Agreed - Game ends here. Everyone starts new game . Everyone happy to not play against AIs or get bored bombing planets for hours with nerfed sieges. b) Disagree , overall team is well - Game continues , player should not quit game. c) Disagree , chance of comeback - Game continues for 10 minutes th
Basically , whenever someone feels the urge to quit... 1) Tell everyone that you have Lost. "I have Lost" 2) Your teammates should now verify this with either.... a) "Yea...hes right , we might aswell start a new game , no point dragging this" b) "No...your wrong , we are still winning because playerX on their team is worse off , so overal we winning" c) "Erm...can we please play a bit longer , we might have a comeback going" If a) T
