Just curious. What diificulty level do you play? I always play normal and I agree that taking down cities is not that difficult given a strong army of sovereign and 4 heroes. I like the idea that Wizard1200 suggested linking city size to defenders. That may be the case now, I don't know. If not, then some thought should be given to that idea. So far, my strategy is to build a strong army of heroes and battle as many creatures as possible to build thei

Thanks Fistalis, I see I need to pay more attention to the descriptions of the perks. They are changed a lot. I did as you suggested and created a new sovereign and, at least in this game, it seems to be working better. Character graphics still don't display in the Traqde window though.

I have attempted to play 6 games with this version. 1. I had a custom character in .077 and he is the one I select at beginning of each game. His graphic does not display at the time I select my sovereign nor in the "Trade" window. Neither does my hero's graphic. 2. When selecting my sovereign's first skill after game has started the Strength option does not work. I select it but I don't see anyeffect in his attack ability. 3. This is not

I agree with the concept of trade route management. Now I have to manually make a list of my trade routes to know what cities are connected.

There is also a "Mega Event" where ALL planets get attacked by spies, yours and your opponents. You will find one spy per planet when viewing the Espionage screen. That screen allows you to nullify the spies if you have spies available. This event has crippled me in several early games, so, I now attempt to create enough spies to cover the number of planets I control. You can turn off "Mega Events" on the first startup screen. How about the Wizadry series or Infocom's RPGs? I remember playing Zork and the other Infocom games that were text only. They were so well written that it was easy to see the world around you in your mind. And you didn't need a nuclear powered video board!
