Took all the advice. I know the changelog promised improvements in performance, but I am always wary of beta material. In any case, I was overly cautious. Performance has been almost on par with DA 1.61, even with all the improvements. The gameplay tweaks are fantastic. Still not upgraded to 1.8C until I am sure none of the reported errors won't apply to me. Looks like I will have no choice but to buy the new expansion (and plan the next upgrade of my computer). I am hooked.

I had to laugh at Embird telling us all not to worry about great whites. So typical of the Aussies to make light of what the rest of the civilized world considers a ter

Olde Manne here, with apologies to Oldstatesman, my moniker was chosen to suite me not to steal from him. I'm 48 and a Canadian so this looks like the empire for me. I've been playing and lurking for about a year and a half on my son's computer, and finally caved a month ago and bought my own version. Not much of a player, just love the gendre and having fun. Been playing strategy games forever and my first computer games on an Apple II many moons ago. I'd love to join the old-timers here.
