I was enjoying a game that I wasn't the most powerful civilization in, and I was getting ready to build and launch some large ships, but then the 3rd place civ surrendered to me (for no reason that I can gather) and before you know it, I had an influence victory... Since i was wanting to play longer, what could I have done to prevent that? I really didn't want to give up planets, but I guess I should have?

I built my computer, and the prices on TONS of computer related products are really falling. Ram especially... Anyways, for a very nice budget PC, check this out $499. Not going to be the most upgradable, but still a good machine. and I dont know, I assume it's rare? But I've only played about 8 games myself so I dont know.
Just finished, went the military route, I was losing some money, but I could just produce so many ships that they couldn't keep up. 10,500 points. Highest score so far (don't know how good of a score that is though )
Still in process, but things are looking good. My economy is suffering a little bit, but it was so strong for a while that I have a massive bankroll.. We'll see how things go.
Ok, playing normal difficulty, with common planets and common habitable planets and 7 opponents on a medium map. Oddly enough all the planets are grouped in the middle and I was lucky enough to grab 4 habitable planets while most others have 2. Ok, skip forward about 100 turns. Things are going well, I now have 8 planets and I'm on my way to a nice influence victory... This is where things get odd. 1st One of the races (can't remember who) gets some kind of influence bonus
Ah, thank you both for the great help, I really appreciate it. I've only had the game a couple weeks and I'm coming up to speed, but economics was one of my stumbling blocks. A couple sub-questions: 5) How does tourism work and is it work focusing on, or will it just appear on its own as a kind of bonus? One game I played on a medium map, I was raking in all kinds of money from tourism, other games it really hasn't been a factor. I'm guessing it's tied to your i
Here is the situation, I'm playing a game with 6 races on a tiny map. I started off pretty good, the Drengin picked on me so eventually I wiped them out, but before that happened, they managed to get rid of 2 civilizations. Game is going ok at this point, I have a pretty good military and my research rating is only 98, but my economy is making me about 500BC a week, mostly through trade. There are now 4 civilizations left. Now, here is my mistake: I decide to attack the Altarians wh
But this has to be a bug doesn't it? These guys really aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing.
it isn't normal that they kill everything is it? That doesn't sound very peaceful.
Peacekeepers popped up. They're destroying my trade routes, attacking fleets orbiting planets, star bases, everything. This really seems to be a bug. They are not just attacking ships in other civilizations borders. They're really just destroying everything. My trade routes are getting dropped, my starbases are being destroyed and there are too many of them for me to wipe out. I dont have the tech, and if i have to spend the next 50 turns trying to get the tech to take these guys out, I'm j
I just had this happen and it isn't cool. They're destroying my trade routes, attacking fleets orbiting planets, everything. This really seems to be a bug. The normal game is running 1.50.100 and the expansion is version 1.59.078
Ah, well, at least I'm not missing anything. Maybe someday that will be added
Hello! Just got the game and it is a LOT of fun, but here is a simple question that has been bothering me. If I want to talk with the AI civs, all I can do is trade with them. Is this right? Seems like i should be able to tell them that I don't appreciate their starbase location or their ship buildup. Or to leave a friend alone, etc... Is this not available or am I just too dense to find the option? Thanks!!
