But when you upgrade to the subscription, does the Fences go with it and let you keep it updated?

Just wondering if I could buy.. say.. Fences for $10 and then upgrade to an Object Desktop Subscription for $34.99? That would be $44.99, $5 cheaper than buying the Subscription outright. Or would I have to have Fences for a few weeks before I'm considered "eligible for an upgrade?" Thanks for any help you can give me! I'm really bummed that I missed the Cyber Monday sale a few weeks ago.
