I experienced the same problem after installing IE7. It seem anything that uses IE to render html, including instant messengers, etc, all have the missing cursor problem where it disappears entirely while floating over that window. In the meantime I've been using the CTRL-SHIFT-C default hotkey to disable CursorXP when I need to manipulate something in those windows. It's definitely a change in IE7 which has caused the problem.
