This was a very insightful article. It's sad how some people can hate Israel so much that they think of it as Nazi Germany. Sure, some of what Israel does is questionable, but to compare them to Nazi Germany is either making light of the holocaust or showing true anti-semitism (and it is anti-semitism, because Palestine and the other Middle Eastern countries around Israel are just as bad, yet don't receive the same criticism).

What's the law on hysterectomies? If they require the husband's approval then there is no double standard at all. Losing the ability to father a child and having an abortion are two very different things. It's like saying that masturbation or having sex outside of the right times is wrong because it stops all those sperm from reaching eggs. You can't really compare them.</

I apologize for meta-blogging (blogging about blogging), because I hate it, but this is one of the few times it's appropriate. As many of you probably don't know, I started another semester of college. I'm finally taking "serious" courses. One of those "serious" courses is American Politics. I originally registered for the course that took place on Friday nights, but because of my trip to New York and future events, I had to drop it and find another course to take. The online c

I think that there's both right and left wingers on this site. However, often times I find that the right wingers tend to use strong arm and bullying tactics to bait the left wingers, who fall for it all the time. Then the right wingers proceed to point out how rude the left wingers are when they respond. Who cares? Let 'em have each other. By the way, sandy2, I beleive Bu

If you don't like people disagreeing with you, then you should go here . And yes, your disapproval of people disagreeing with you is the case here , because if it wasn't, you'd see that there is as many idiotic posts from the left as there are from the right. In fact, some of you are responsible for many of them.

I arrived home last night after four bittersweet days in New York City . Except for the fits and the cold weather, I enjoyed New York. Sure, everything, especially the hot dogs and the Hilton Times Square , was overrated, but the perpetual lights and schools of people made great eye candy, the rush of the subway trains reminded me of Great Americ

The all-seeing eye could be the eye of righteousness or the eye of America or of the government, so that doesn’t have to be removed, but Annuit Coeptis needs to go too. The problem with the All-Seeing Eye is that it wasn't created to be the eye of America or the government. In almost every incarnation, including the Freemasons, it meant some sort

I'm curious now. Does everybody who is against this ban on homosexuals support the idea that anybody who's over eighteen and not a felon should be considered suitable for adoption, since other differences are just as natural as homosexuality, and therefore it would be discrimination to discriminate against them for being poor, disabled, smokers, alcoholics, Satanists, homosexuals, on welfare, etc.? After all, which of these groups does not deserve the same rights as everybody else?

I didn't catch the part in the article where the guy is identified as being 'left'. Maybe you just ASSumed he is 'left'? The guy doesn't even live in North America, and how do you know he's not a Bush supporter? Anyway, there are plenty of idiots out there, why bother making an issue about one in particular in order to try to smear 'the left'? Maybe *you* are the whacko in

No. No it does not. But nor does it afford the right to discriminate against gays. When you think about it though, if it's wrong to discriminate against homosexuals because of who they are, that should hold true for all the criteria that prevents people from getting children. Without such discrimination in practice, as long as

Homosexuality isn't a choice, and I personally feel that being in a wheel chair takes more away from being a parent then being gay. But does being disabled and therefore not as able to care for a child as a traditional family mean that it's all right to discriminate against a minority ?

Actually I do believe that the most recent ballot has to be accepted, because it was a hand count was it not? Isn't it possible that hand counts can have at least a minute chance of error or cheating? If republican

Oh for godsake, they recounted the bloody votes three times. This is worse than Florida and shows how petty politics has become. By the way, in the Washington case, the recounts were mandated by state law. What's funny is that they decided after they had won to stop the recounts. It's definitely suspicious.

Extending your logic, steven, we should do away with marriage entirely because it involves a commitment from one to the other, and because SOME individuals abuse the perceived "power" they get out of a marriage relationship. The government's role in protecting citizens should be strictly limited to providing remedies for those whose rights are denied the

ask any woman (or man for that matter) whos been raped just how sexual it was. rape is battery that involves sexual organs rather than a bat or a tire iron or fists and other parts of the body. in prison (or any similar situation) same-sex rape is a tool to establish domination or to humiliate (heteroseexual rape is the same). rape isnt sex. It involves sex, it's sexual, and unless these men would normally rape other men, it sounds pretty gay do sexual things with another man. Sure, they'd do them to women too, so they're either bisexual or bi-curious.

Maybe because unlike Africa, the people that suffered from the tsunami were victims of nature's wrath, whereas in Africa it sounds more like a human issue. If they all agreed over there they could be a whealthy country. I dont know. I think i'm starting to ramble and it doesnt make any sense now. That's probably the reason. With the tsunami victi

I'm sorry to hear that about your friend. I have a friend (online) who suffers from eating disorder (although I think she's trying to get help, but then again, I think she too is part of one of those "support" groups). If they won't admit that they have a problem, then I doubt there really is anything you could do, unless you can get them hospitalized against their will. Perhaps reading her secret journal and support group might give you a few ideas on what to say. What worked for your bulimic f

After much deliberation, the community has chosen a successor, and the new name is sure to place the modest city in the spotlight once again!
