if i do that, how do i get it to target a shortcut or .exe ?

I just made a gif animation icon and i wanted to set it as a shortcut to a program in object dock pro. But when i change the original shortcut icon to my new (awesome) gif, all i get is the first frame in the animation... I thought inserting a simple animation docklet (the default spiny globe, i dont have any others) into object dock and then changing its target, but when i try to do that, object dock closes. Also, i dont know how to turn the simple animation docklet into a shortcut, current
