Well I will check back in a day or 2 and see if there is any updates to either one. I am part of another forum(not related to this in any means) and we tend to like people to add to a post if it is relavet rather then to start a new one. One of out pet-peves is those that don't use the Search feature on forums, lol. But thanks for the advide Zubaz, will do that if I don't get a responce when I check back. Thanks

Reply to Win XP X64 in BootSkin

Would it be possiable to get a list of programs(by Stardock of course) that are XP Pro x64 compatable. I have read that WindowsBlinds will work on XP64, but they say that it does not skin non-64 bit applications. Is this issue been fixed or is it something that is in the works? Also are there any other programs that are the same way as WindowsBlinds in regaurds to not skinning non-64 bit applications. Thanks

Ok, I updated to WB5 and it is all fixed just like when I had the trial a long time ago. I still have a problem that I had even with the beta. When I use Yahoo Messenger, whenever I right click anywhere in messenger it closes the Yahoo out. If I unload WB, I can right click, but not when I have WB loaded.

Well I know my system info. Operating system - XP Home sp2 Processor - AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4Ghz Ram - 2 GB Hard Drive - 160GB Video - 256Mb ATI Radeon Don't think any other info will help here. I do have plenty of space left on the HD, not even half full yet.

Could the problem be that I did not click unload before I uninstalled the trial? All I did was uninstall the trial and then installed the full version.

Well I have the full version, have had it a little while. I did have some skins when I first got the trial and have used them, but lately I have been browsing and found some new ones I was going to try, but been having the problems. I had gotten my version from here, I looked to see when I got it, but must have deleted the email shortly after I got it.

1 - First I don't have a clue where the Rebuild List button is, I searched the program in and out, but not anywhere to be found. 2 - Mine just puts them in the WindowBlinds folder, but yes it does create the folder for the skin, just nothing ever goes into them. 3 - I have tried to add using the file extensions .zip and .wba and I get the same results. Maybe there is just something wrong with my WindowBlinds program.

Now I can't get the skins to install. First I downloaded them to a folder on my desktop. Then I opened WindowBlinds and went to "Install skin from disc" on the right. Browsed for the file and clicked open. The problem is that it does not add the skin to the avaliable skins to apply. It is like it does nothing. I also tried to open the .wba file with WindowBlinds and that doesn't work either. I had read somewhere that sometimes you have to zip the file and then it will work, but that didn't work

FIXED IT FINALLY. I went into IE/Tools/Internet Options/Security Tab/Custom Level. Then I scrolled down the list looking for anything related to downloads. There was a line that says "Automatic prompting for file downloads". I had it on disable, but enabled it. Now it asks where I want to save the file to. Thanks for the reply's everyone. Night Train, not sure what that is exactly supposed to do, but it didn't do anything different, but I didn't have WindowBlinds open so it may do somet

I also did find something else out. If I Unload WindowBlinds/turn it off, when ever I download, the amount that I have download goes up and left goes down. But if I have WindowBlinds on the download stuff does not change. Could it be like a java or cookie setting that I have set for my IE?

37 Replies 10,828 Views

Well when I click download it automatically starts downloading to the Temporary Folder. I have found that in the C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds directory, when I download a skin it puts a folder there for it like Darth[1]. Each time I download the bracketed number gets larger. Inside the folders are nothing. I am unable to right click as it gives me the error I explained and pictured above. As far as any downloads I have done since I found this problem, it onl

Well, after a complete reformat I have come to the conclusion that I will have to wait untill the script for downloads are changed so that I can specify a location for it to save to.

37 Replies 10,828 Views

Amount Downloaded 0 KB Amount Remaining 20 MB For some reason even when I download something, and hit refresh when it is done, it still says the as same above.

37 Replies 10,828 Views

I guess no one can answer this one. Maybe when I get my PC backed up on discs I will reformat it and see if that will fix it. Unless someone has something else I can try.

37 Replies 10,828 Views

Darth is the one that I have been trying the most, but it seems to be doing it with all of them. Don't understand why it is not d/ling correctly now, but I could d/l just fine before.

37 Replies 10,828 Views

Well thanks for the reply fuzzy, but it didn't help. Still doing the same. It downloads it, but then it is not on the computer when I search for it.

37 Replies 10,828 Views

Yes I have admin rights on this computer as I am the only person that uses it. As I stated before, right clicking on the download to do "Save Target As" I get the following error/problem. My guess for this error is because the link for the download is done through javascript.

I go to download a blind/skin and it downloads to "Temporary Folder". I went looking through my computer in the Temp folders and wasn't able to find any of the blinds/skins that I downloaded. I tried this several times with different skins just to check if it was just that one. I also tried to search my computer for the exact file name and included hidden and system folders in the search with no luck finding them at all. It is as if I never even downloaded the skin in the first place. I had the
