My laptop died and I'm trying to migrate my Stardock products over to my desktop. I requested an email which sent me download links, serials and loose instructions for installation. I installed Impulse and first attempted to install WindowBlinds. Towards the end of the installation it told me I didn't have admin rights (I just set the login up a week ago but I rechecked and I do have admin rights) so I aborted and moved on to the next thing. I then attempted to install

Ha! The computer grabbed some far flung asteriods earlier and I'm at war with them... Alterians experienced the (mini?)mega-event of finding an artifact that makes them more powerful with every turn... so I want to be sitting on every possible advantage (and get to them before another civ does) as I dismantle the Yor empire and reposition myself to check the Alterians. Didn't want some errant Yor fighter to snipe my miner as it was moving into position. [e digi

I noticed my space miner moves faster than 1 space/turn when fleeted... Did they start using an average speed with fleets instead of "as fast as the slowest ship"? If that's the case, couldn't you load up a larger hulled ship with a bunch of engines and effectively make a giant tugboat? Idk, shot in the dark, I was obsessed with the game more than a year ago, put it down for various reasons and just recently bought TotA and got back into it.

I had this happen also, hadn't been involved in a war for the entire game and little standing military to speak of, but was the most advanced race and had the strongest economy. I was pursuing a influence victory. I checked their stats and equipped a ship design heavy on shields and mass drivers. Made a small fleet of these (still ungodly expensive) and had a few victories but I couldn't stand up to the onslaught of having all my (fully modded) space stations and trade bonuses annihilated wit

I suppose that this will be what I'll do next time. I just didn't know. But on the bright side, the planet has enough pop. now that I can launch the ships. Yay Thanks for the info, I didn't know what had happened.

I was at war with the Altarians and I temporarily (or so I thought) garrisoned 6 troop transports on a small planet that I'd just conquered. I launched the first transport successfully before I noticed what was going on, but the other five are stuck: there is no more population on the host planet so there is no way to send them to another planet to replenish the troops. But most importantly, where did my troops go??? They didn't show up in the population when my transports stopped there and t

I'm using a GeForce FX Go 5200 on a Inspiron 8600. Running okay so far, although to get the movies to work correctly when I installed I had to modify a file in a ForceWare update. I still haven't run extended games on some of the larger maps though. I'd either look for a notebook with a daughterboard setup (so your video is upgradable - some Dells have this) or bite the bullet and bite a model with a top of the line card; because you'll be stuck with it for the life of the notebook.
