I don't own a copy of Galciv yet and have never played, but I find these forums interesting. Rickety computer and lack of time is why I have not got around to getting the game. I'm hooked reading the forum, though. When I get the time to do a computer rebuild, it will probably be one of the 1st things I purchase to run on it. Having this forum here will be very handy when I do get started and it is great to see what those who made the game have to say about things relating to the game. The "smal

See if the makers of MOO2 will let the graphics for the Elerians be licensed...?
Interesting stuff. Some other things to add/change would be to set limits on the different species for how large a population percentage could be soldiers. Like say humans could have a max of 25%, a less war-like species less, say 20% and maybe some very war-like as high as 50% or more. As examples. Allow some species to only use slaves that are from another species, not their own species. Set slave production at less than regular population production, but allow
It's the variations that make games interesting enough to play over and over. The more things one can choose to do, the more directions the game can go. Examples like you just gave are what keep drawing people back to play a game again and again. I look at computer games as interactive entertainment and player decision making are what make them fun for me.
How about a panicked sounding "oh...(insert expletive of choice)" when end turn is clicked?
You might think that and its understandable.... But apparently frogboy voted FOR tactical combat. Some one can see the way the wind is blowing... Don't mistake defending the lack of a feature in a current product with being philisophically opposed to the feature. To be fair it's not your fault it's hard to tell the difference the way some of them write . <
I tried out the "create post" button not realising it makes a new thread somewhere else on the forum. I thought it just added a post to the thread. This is using IE. I got an error message also, but it said I needed to write in a "title". Which I then did and it then posted the thread when I clicked the submit button a 2nd time. Back to firefox (1.07 version) I noticed that even with a newly opened browser, it wont let me view any thread I've posted on. Even the threads I posted on on
Trying "create post" with IE here. Also in a follow up to previous post, I can not view a thread with firefox once I've posted on it. Even if the post was done using IE. i've posted here using IE and on another using firefox, both by clicking the submit button, and I can not view either thread now using firefox. No apparent problems with IE, though. Oops, didn't realise "create post" starts a new thread. This was supposed to be a post on an existing thread. Please ignore or delete.
Been lurking this site using firefox for a couple months, but didn't register and post till today. I just posted with firefox 1.07 (I use an older version as the newer ones don't work with my shakey system set-up for some unknown reason) on another thread. I clicked "submit" and the new page it went to was just a blank screen. Clicked a bookmark to get back to the forum, but when I tried looking for the thread I posted on, the first page change cause another blank screen. Fired up IE
I registered here just so I could vote in the poll. Voted for tac combat. Disapointed that frogboy is so dead set against tac combat philosophically. The comments about turning the game into "just aqnother wargame" or similar he made as to being why he does not want to have it. The game already is a wargame. Most games are. Adding tac combat would deepen the immersion as some here already wrote. Add more variables, more interesting things that would keep the game playing "fresh" for many players
