Newbie question, Can you pause the game? in Sins of a Solar Empire Sins Forums

I've looked everywhere in the forums and in the game options and the manual and I don't know how to pause the game other than using the menu button. I would like to be able to pause while in play so I can give my ships more specific orders and since I'm new I'm not real fast with the interface. Any reply would be appreciated.

I am currently playing a game with a gigantic map and have put many hours into it. I want the patch so I can continue this game which I have put so much effort into and with the FOW my far right side of the universe is obscured. Yes, I could probably play with a smaller universe in a new game but I was having too much fun in my old game until I downloaded the latest patches. Anyway I'll just wait and pray the new patch fixes it.

I was wondering about the ETA of the new patch that will fix the FOW problem. I'm not complaining I just want to play again. I miss the game.

Well I tried using a text program to edit the file and was able to but nothing changed. Maybe I did it wrong. Do I change the lines Option 0,1 and 2 cost under sensors to 0 in the middle of the line where the "arrows" are or is that wrong? Also do I change both GCII's files and DA's or just one?

I would like to try to edit this file to change the sensor cost in order to fix the fog of war problem. However I don't seem to understand how to do it. I found the file and my computer warned me that editing this file was potentially bad for the program but I ignored the warning and tried to change the numbers under sensor cost and could find no way to erase the numbers and replace them with zero. Anyway I'd like to play this weekend and wouldn't mind trying to edit the file. Any help would be

I have been playing a game of DA that I started as a beta but have continued into DA 1.5 and I don't see any difference in the starbase graphics or any other types of graphics. In addition I have rarely been able to get any of the in game movies to work. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has ahd this issue or maybe is it that I started the game as a beta. Plus I would love to know why my in-game movies don't work even though the opening and ending ones do. Any help or advice would be apprec

I will try reinstalling. Just for reference I am runnimg windows xp with a 2.4ghz Pentium 4, 521 MB RAM and my video card is a NVIDIA GeForce MX 4000 with 128MB of onboard video memeory and my virtual memory is at maximum

I was playing DA with gigantic universe and everything was running smoothly until one turn (quite a ways into the game). I was finished with the turn, pushed the turn button and as the other races were making thier moves I got a CTD. I retried several times to get it to move on to the next turn and even did a few things different like not move ships or upgrade starbases just before ending the turn and still got the CTD. DA - Keeping track of asteroid mining in Galactic Civilizations II GalCiv2 Forums

I was wondering if there were any plans to make it easier to keep track of your civs asteroid mining operations like you can keep track of your planets and ships in the planet/ship window. Normally this hasn't been a problem so far but my civ is getting large and my influence is taking over others asteroid mining. Normally I can find this new mining operation but sometimes I can't so I know it's helping me but I can't control how or find it to upgrade. Thoughts anyone?

I'm having the same problem with spies and it's probably due to the reason explained above since I have followed the advice posted to me as to how to place the agents. I'll have to start a new game to find out, bummer.

I haven't gotten any responses from my earlier posts about improving planet graphics. The ideas are in the previous post. So, I was just wondering if these ideas have already bee thoroughly discussed and I missed the posts or if they are uninteresting to people.

Thanks for the tip about distance. I knew that you could set up mining bases and then reuse the space miner but how do you upgrade the bases, with contructors or with the mining ships?
