I originally pirated Gal Civ II... After I saw how much the game was being updated and improved I bought it and enjoyed it. Now i have pre-ordered the game and am enjoying a nice and fine early DL. Stardock's method of software distribution worked on me. fine job you crafty guys.

I cant help it....... The AI is just about the best AI ive ever seen anywhere anytime and thus I cant help but still enoy the game. Stardock's support is top notch and their communication and emphasis on a stellar AI must be commended.

Ive seen it happen once... The Dark Yor conquered the Arceans and Korx and pretty much annhililated the Drengin before I won a diplomatic victory... was a strange game.

Without Stardock Central being used for patches the game essentially becomes freeware... Besides every single game today requires you to DOWNLOAD a patch... wtf do you want... patches my snail mail? The fact you need a serial to DL patches is what makes people who pirate the game actually pay. (worked for me)

I tried to update to the 1.11 patch today and all of a sudden I keep getting an error related to my account having invalid information over several attempts... SD central worked fine when I updated to 1.10 So, what gives... what is wrong and what can I do to fix it?

The update system really does reel in people who download the game. I DLed it and was impressed enough to throw down the cash because of the promised updates and the nice prices associated with games without protection.

Well im sure he replied with no because the person who made the post obviously has no idea what he is talking about. If he did he would know that the AI handling of this type of crap is near impossible and that his suggestions go against the grain of what Gal Civ stands for.

Is there any decent sources for custom maps or scenarios? Ive personally wanted to play a game with evil races lumped together at one end and good races at another with neutrals being randomly placed in the two groups. Any ideas?

Anyway, I am about 1/2 way through my current game. I was on top of the research game for quite awhile until I suddenly found that the Drengin research production was trippling me. (remember I was top researcher) Planetary invasion just became common tech and I just noticed the Drengin managed to get "photonic torpedoes" just like that. And yes, they are still evil. Now what would be the likely cause and solution to my problems? Could the drengin have some

I noticed in 1.0x that slow tech games were perhaps flawed. Before, this patch the AI tech rate and player tech rates seemed to be unbalenced when the tech rate was set below normal at slow. Im wondering if slow tech games are working for anyone these days.

Ive noticed that certain 'trends' seem to happen with the AI in a majority of my games... The Arceans tend to get stupid amounts of influence and have to be taken out by me just so that my minimap doesnt turn yellow. Meanwhile the Drengin stomp a few races out of existance, and opposing AI militaries are unable to outfight the forces. Races such as the Korx, Iconians, and Drath never seem to be anything other than minor powers. <b

Well he does have a point... Ive yet to see a game where the Drath, Iconians, Terrans, or Korx have a favorable/dominant position in the game... when I play I tend to always see the Arceans getting large ammounts of influence while the Dregin sweep away a few smaller groups to be a military power.... :x

It simply adds flavor to the game... Think of planets that produce grade goods as being critical to developing that good.
