Looks like a computerized version of old Avalon Hill's King Maker to me. Though by appearance, and report it is more abstract, simplified than KM. Of course I'm a bit miffed at SD right now with their sale. I think I might go look for a Steam game.

I am not happy with this the more I think about it. I feel, strangely, slightly betrayed. Brad just may have elevated himself and his company above EA in my despicable rating. I may have to place them on my blacklist. Even EA is only hovering just above this level for me. I find this as not good news. I am thinking even FE is now out even though it would technically be free for me, and it is still developed by SD. Then again, look what SD does.
My better half loves it as well, but I had a harder time getting into it. It's not that it's bad, it's quirky and pretty much exactly what I expected from my limited runs with the other Sims games. I don't like how almost everything is done off-screen (but I realize that that's how The Sims works), or that you couldn't design your own buildings, or that I had to reset everything after I had depleted my quest points a
While the game tries to offer you "tactical options"--such as the direct assualt, a sneakier back alley, or a height advantage--at key points, the levels are generally short and uninspired.
This tactical thing is one of the items that really irritated me. I mean WTF, I can't see the battlefield myself, or explore it? Were parts of the game designed for 5 year olds? What yutz designed this part? One o

As example, for me DA2 was stupid and too console like and I did finish it but I cannot say I had a lot of fun and that is what is important in the end.
Well, for the most part I did. It can be terribly frustrating at times, especially when the console malarkey rears its ugly head, but over all, I enjoyed mos
WARNING: Some Spoilers ahead: Here is what I wrote in another area thread regarding Crysis 2. By the way, is quoting yourself bad form? I wouldn't be surprised Crysis 2 does have lower sytsem reqs., it has a lot more of a console feel to it and plays like it. It's pretty, and it's good, but not as good as Crysis or Crysis Warhead. It almost feels, and plays like a port. When I saw the interview of one of the devs saying, or maybe I
Quoting Eisenhund, reply 86 So, does any know if the made the Kodiak prettier this time around? It already is pretty.
It reminds me of an APC, floating in space, without any road system. It doesn't even look as good as say the APC's from Renegade Legion. I tend to like blocking and angular in my fighting vehicles too. I'm sorry, but the Kodiak jus
To me, when I read, "The Adventures are done off screen," in other words they just occur behind the scenes, that blew the RPG any thing of it. I can just imagine all the fighting ending up being a limp, overcooked noodle like what World Adventures brought. I was very disappointed in the sparring. The same goes with just simple things as Ghost busting in Ambitions. Doing that career felt more like paperwork than any thing else. And Spore, I bought it from Impulse
From the article, I got the impression I was fearing based my experience with Sims 3 and EA in general. This is a boring, watered down, mainly pointless game. It has nothing in actuality to do with adventuring or RPG, but plays like some partial management system of day to day chores, of some Sim, in a type of Medieval setting, with their interpretation of social interaction. It doesn't even appear to have a decent design/build system this time around. Basically a

There's a time limit isn't there, as in the other TW series? You have until date X to achieve what ever you want? Some thing like 20 years which is about what, 80 turns?
Quoting Eisenhund, reply 30 I always thought the Tie Defender was a little over the top. Felt a bit Monty Hallish. That was what I thought too. My favorite was the TIE Advanced (or "Avenger"). It was fast and strong, but fit with the other ships. The TIE Defender was so insanely overpowered that in the expansions you started single handily taking on entire fleets including capital ships. <br /
I don't see the logic in making a, "Strategy/Tactical Game," that is dumbed down or simplified On first glance, the statement seems fair pointed, but upon deeper reflection, it is easy to see just how silly it actually is. One of the deepest and most satisfying strategic game consists of only a few simple rules - 6 total units, a differentiated movement/attack vectors for each unit, and one heavily conditional multi unit combi
well said raven, well said. about a year ago i picked up jagged alliance 2 on GOG.com. it was a game that i had always wanted to play back in the nineties but never got around to it. needless to say it was definetly one of those golden era pc games. well, i remember that there was a point in the game wehre i had 2 guys shooting at someone, and one of my shooters had run out of ammo. i really didn't know what to do,
Too, me, from every review I've read, it sounds like they made a port, and not a game for the PC. It's primarily meant for consoles and that style of gaming. It's the reason I won't buy it and seem to be done with the DA titles now. I am wondering if MA is going to go this irritating route?
The thing I am finding odd is that it's making me think about the general moves of publishers to, "reach a broader audience." This attempt often seems to dumb games down or assumes people can't learn any thing, from terminology to some basic mechanics. It's also what I see as the, "port," problem. In any case of a game made for a console as well as the PC, or Heaven forbid, a game made for consoles brought to the PC, 99.9999999 percent of the time does not take into account
Strange as this may sound, I couldn't watch the trailer. It was too freaky for me.
*Raises Hand* Okay, newb question. How does one autoreinforce? Is this an option to be turned on or a hotkey for it is not happening currently.
I used to do that until I found out Tac marines can shoot it apart, along with every thing else and I still have to run from walkers.
Playing the beta as well. They are a bit squishy. I with they'd make the sergeant and commisar upgrades both cost 3 pop points each and not 6 each. Also, I wish they had some thing to counter walkers at tier 2. As soon as a dreadnought comes on the board it's a constant run away. The stormtroopers tend to evaporate pretty fast, especially against an assault cannon or melta. Or that autocannon. Melee is bad, but they seem to last longer agai
I don't see why folks are calling it piracy. It's not piracy. This is more akin to Industrial Espionage. A current employee leaks a copyrighted engine and game system. The thing is, why does this individual hope to gain? Is there any thing foreign competitors can use it for or other companies? More to the point, the person whome leaked it must know there will be consequences, possibly even lawsuits. What would be the pay off to make them do this?
Not going to touch it. It sounds like an MMO designed around a consoles controls with a PC design program for an expanded customer base. It smells and looks way to much like a port.
