I want to add that my other games on Impulse are running fine: Sins, GalCiv, HOI, KB. I bought the game in Oct 2010 and ran it once on a old machine. It ran so slow I gave up until I got a new gaming rig recently, but it won't install because of this error.

BDBF, Thanks for your reply. 1) Did you use Impulse to download X3 Reunion and X3 Terran Conflict? Yes, I am using Impulse to download X3 R and TC. 2) If so, are you getting this error on the install process? That is, the download completes but the install fails? For which one or is it both? Yes I am getting the error right after I begin the install process (e.g. after accepting the EULA). The download won't start because the serial number

I'm not getting a response in the Stardock Support section so I'll try here. I am having problems installing the game. I am getting a "serial number you have entered is not recognized by Impulse" error. I have tried to enter the serial number through the register product button but I get an error there too. I opened support ticket but still no response. Please help. Thanks
