If it's worth anything, my playlist is mixed animated and stills of various resolutions. The problem goes away if I restrict it to playing on only one monitor. I have an NVidia GEForce that's a few years old running on an MSI MB.

Hi Basj, My primary monitor is 1920 x 1080 and my secondary is 1600 x 900. My GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650. It happens after a few hours of normal use, although it can happen within a few minutes. I haven't yet noticed a pattern as to what starts it, but I know it happens when it's supposed to switch wallpapers. Maybe set it on 1 minute and let it chug??
Hi Basj, Can you test with monitors with different resolutions and make sure that there are stills of mutliple sizes mixed with dreams of different sizes? I can repro this on my machine in a clean install of Windows 11 and Deskscapes. You can probably just set one of the displays to a lower resolution to test. Should I submit a support ticket?
I was having the problem even without Start 11 installed. Only running on one monitor has worked to prevent hangs for me.
I am running Start 11 and WindowBlinds. I removed both and Deskscapes to baseline and make sure everything works okay. I'll add one at a time and stretch out using it in each configuration to isolate. If it's Start 11, at least that's an easy fix. I'd rather have Deskscapes.
I'm having almost the exact same problem and it started about a month ago or so. I have reinstalled Windows and the latest software from scratch twice now and the issue comes back just like the OP states above. On my last reinstall, it came back after three days. Explorer hangs and crashes when I click on the desktop, then the next set of wallpapers comes up. I am running dual monitor with a playlist and the two monitors have different resoltutions, so maybe that's part of the i
The issue with not being able to open File Explorer dialogs with Insider Builds has returned for me. I tried uninstalling and resinstalling 11.04 and I still have the issue. The only way to workaround is to apply the default theme. It's been working great for a few weeks but then stopped recently. Here is my update history if it helps: </
Same here. It didn't detect the new version and when I installed 11.04, the setup completed but it didn't update. I had to uninstall 11.02 and then reinstall 11.04. After that, things are back to normal and the issue is resolved. Thank you Stardock Team!!
This issue continues to persist. Can someone at least confirm or deny if they see this issue in current insider builds?
Since I installed Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Insider Preview (10.0.22635.4515) (KB5046756), File Explorer will no longer switch to any folders when I try to browse. It stays on the first screen that it opens with. Also, any app that uses the built-in File Open or Save dialogs from Windows won't open the proper dialog box. To confirm, I uninstalled the update and verified the behavior. After reinstalling the update, I have determined that I can use the Default the
Cool. I'll wait for that update and come back if I still see an issue.
I am using multiple desktops in Windows 11. I have Deskscapes running with no problem on my main desktop, but when I switch to my other desktops, Deskscapes isn't running there. I'm fine with that, but when I again switch to my primary desktop, Deskscapes isn't running anymore.
Hello forum members, I have some feature suggestions for Deskscapes and I apologize if it already exists (I can't find it documented if it does). I would like Deskscapes to have some keyboard shortcuts for controlling pausing and advancing to the next or last wallpapers. The single most important of these is "pause" especially now in Win 11 where it takes two clicks to get into the desktop context menu (right-click, and the more options or whatever it is). I fin
Excellent! Thanks AzDude. I'd also like to add that it would be totally acceptable for the monitoring/indexing to not be real-time. It could do it on start up once, once a day, or whatever. I don't want a big perf hit for this, but I want to save myself some time. ;-)
I would like to add to this suggestion to have it monitor folders (and subfolders) for new items for random mode. It is a big pain to add a few new animations, and then wait for the UI to render all the thumbnails for ALL of your dreams before you can select everything and add it to the random backgrounds.
Same issue here on multiple machines. Both Surface Pro 3's if that helps. Looking forward to the update.
Am I really the only user of this feature?
I love the random feature, but it doesn't respect substyles. Therefore, I always get the default style applied when the skin changes. That sucks when the default style isn't Win 10 style and I'm on Win 10. Also, I love some of the new master skins, but I also like to recolor them and apply different textures. This is totally useless with random. I think you could improve this by letting a user specify the substyle to apply in the list of selected rando
Thank you so much. This has fixed my issue! [e digicons]:D[/e]
I am having the same issue. However, I have purchased the upgrade to 3.42 thinking that if I uninstalled the edgerunner version and then install the new one it would work. Nope, nope, nope.
When I select my wallpapers and dreams, it only give me the option to apply to All Monitors. That would be fine, except my Monitor 2 just stays stuck on the last wallpaper selected and only monitor 1 cycles through the random backgrounds.
YES!! Please bring back this feature. I want to randomly shuffle between dreams and my own wallpapers.
Any news on this? I had to stop using the beta to get a critical project finished. I am ready to try again.
I've had similar problem with VNC and RDP. I run RDP and VNC clients on all my machines to connect to servers. I've noticed that I'll often get stuck in a situation where the KB is going to the wrong machine.
I have the same error. I have the full version. I have already tried verifying the installation in Impulse (no problem detected), and have uninstalled and reinstalled WindowBlinds. I get the error when I try to apply a skin.
