I've been reflecting on appropriate punishment and I think that I should repent by buying a game from Stardock.

OP: I've been a devoted Stardock fan for several years, pumping probably a couple hundred hours and a couple hundred dollars into it. (Probably one of the top three production houses I support). I've always been and continue to be impressed with the products and the customer and technical support. Impulse has been a great addition to an expanding family. I appreciate this, but it is impossible for me to force the variable - which is the Dread Lords appearance - so this is not of much use to me.
I might be incorrect - it might have crashed once right after the announcement and then another time on the turn. Did you manage to figure out why?
I have GAII, DA and TotA installed. Except for some minor bugs (ship sprites dissapearing for example), the game runs flawlessly. I'm playing a random map (not campaign). However, whenever the Dread Lords show up (message appears), the game crashes out on the next turn ALWAYS! What could be doing this? Thanks for your help!
I just read a review (that several people agreed with) that focused on the BOXED RETAIL VERSION of SRII having StarForce, the most evil of evil insidious copyprotection programs on the market! Say it ain't so, StarDock! Say you didn't include StarForce in the digital download version! Nooooo! With even that not being the case, I'm surprised that SD would do business (i.e. by the rights to a game) with a developer that would use StarForce... TELL ME IT ISN'T TRUE!!!

Bichur is right. The use of the word 'cracked' is a word that was inappropriately translated and 'cracked' is an illegal activity in English. The original poster is Russian and it seems he did not mean 'crack' but something else. Good luck Alexsultan.
Lets have a little patience with Alex incase a) your dealing with a *special* kid that doesn't know cracks are warez and/or b) your dealing with someone where English is not their first language and they actually don't mean crack but say, perhaps, patch or something. As for you ALEX: 1) If you put a crack, or a file that removes a CD check, onto a games *exe file, you are breaking the EULA and copyright laws, even if you legally own the original CD. Yes, I saved the dektop under DesktopX Themes --> *.desktop. I have learned from another thread to put a shortcut to the theme in the startup folder, which I did. When I start-up thre are still two problems though: i) I get an annoyign dialog box that asks 'Do I want to save the current desktop before I load the new desktop?' and ii) most of the time the widgets (not the objects) are in a different place then I anchored them and are differently configured. Hey all,Small problem. DestopX objects won't load on Windows XP start up when they have been loaded onto the desktop previusly. Only when I go into the 'create' portion of DesktopX do the objects that I previously loaded reappear on my desktop. I have fiddled with all the settings in DesktopX to no avail (including load DesktopX automatically at start-up and I have always had Make DesktopX my default *.desktop handler...). What is your CPU, ram and paging system size? If those are low, that could be why.
