They may both be TBS, but they are poles apart in approach, and with 6.7Billion on the Planet there is more than enough market space to go round. As far as I am concerned the more they talk to each other (if they do) the better. The last thing we need is TBS dominated by one Developer, stiffles innovation. Personally I'd be very happy to discover cut throat fighting going on - if that is indeed happening - because the one certain winner out of that is the player. Particularly if you h

I am an atheist, but any time I do go into a Church, Synagogue or Mosque on a pre-planned event or visit, I will in nearly all occasions strive to be "properly" dressed. Not through convention, or worrying about what the neighbours might say - people can think how they wish, I could care less - but out of respect for another persons Faith. By the same token, I would be irritated to the point of anger should someone be denied access solely due to dress standards, thats insane and destro

"Abu Dhabi emerges as cultural hub of the Gulf" Some of the other Emirates may have something to say about that I have spent a lot of time working in the Middle East, much of it in the UAE, especially Dubai. I have been struck by how much building and iconic structures are going up, all good stuff of course. What did cross my mind was the - on

Wrong. Blogging is about precisely what you WANT it to be about Fair call, I hear where you are coming from. As long as the debate is not used as a disguise to attack an individual, no matter who started it (I make no reference to this particular dispute, dont know the background). Personal attacks for the sake of them are wrong, no matter the Culture, the effect on sensible discussion is insiduous, and things tend to disolve into farce.

Lies help alot more than the truth when you are trying to attack someone As soon as that starts, whether by you or someone else - pull back and move on. Blogging is about sensible debate, not mud slinging to cling onto some mythical self respect - the latter cannot be achieved in written debate, dont bother trying. As soon as it gets personal, or anywhere near personal, time to leave that particular debate and watch a movie. Its hardly relevant who has the p

The "Lensmen" series of novels by EE Smith, sometimes known as Doc Smith. Its acknowledged as one of the fore-fathers of modern science fiction, and still as readable now as when it was first published. Take care to read them in Series order though else you end up with unintentional plot spoilers concerning preceeding novels in the series.

Its good to take common sense precautions/preventative action such as Brad described - of course - absolutely no question, else you do store up trouble for later life. It can get out of hand though..... I saw a different take on it on another blog where the blogger declared "...... I'll die happy at 70, why spend your last ten years of life having the diper changed in the rest home just because your brain turned to scrambled eggs". Kind o

"Universal virus? Thats for sure, it will be a Health Advocate's heaven, a whole new species of bugs to worry about, with each new world colonised a new set of bugs - *bliss* Meanwhile on ol' planet earth there is an eigth that will kill you - Health Warnings - you'll die from Stress worrying about them.

It is a little more complicated than some have indicated. I had not realised until recently that many threads over at joeuser.com, Stardocks Blog Site, are repeated on the GCII Site. Thats why a lot of the religious threads appear to ignite here on the GCII Site, they are linked, and in fact have been posted to at JoeUser, which is fair enough. Clearly a Religious area within in a Blog Site is fair game as they say. I pass no judgement on the "recent posts" list, personally I

if life was an accident. and we now what it takes to make a cell. and we put all of those elements together how come we can't make that cell live. yes we can make proteans but we can't make that cell live I cant - but no doubt in a couple of hundred years or so, there will be an explanation on how to do it. Couple of hundred years ago, people would be thought insane to the point of almost locking them up if they stuck to the belief that we could

If she's into the yin-yang thing, fine, the overwhelming majority are not interested either way, and even less impressed by it. So I hope her passion for it is a genuine personal thing, that really will stand the test of time - else she will be kicking herself for many many years longer than the years she alone was impressed by it. You've jumped to the wrong conclusion - the above was no "attack", just fact. Most people are not into tatoos, nor yin-yang

I'll Second that, wise advice. If your not sure what to get that meets your need (PC or Mac), post the Need here - I'll guarantee a Mac/PC war will start - so you will get all the views imaginable in the known Universe on the issue - which I suspect is what you need to help sort out which is best for you in your particular individual situation. Just filter out emotion and self justification in the ensuing war, there will be plenty of

Laugh away if it floats your boat - the number is 0044 1428 717880 There is no doubt that you can build a PC cheaply (cheaper) on self build as such, often the gap is far wider than actual cost of self build when comparing the standards of componants in the two versions. Its the old story, depends what your after, as to the route you'll follow. And hands off my Floppy

Wouldnt be interested. Microsoft Office is a catch all product in terms of features and abilities for Corporate and Home use, but primarily aimed at Corporates which is where the money is, not Home User. To compete with that you need to hit a niche market so that you dont have to offer "all" the whizbangs. The latter has already been done, and as they are finding out, its hard if not impossible to compete with something that already "does it", there

Quiz's like that - situations like that - are deliberately manufactured by the originator for reasons more akin to their agenda than yours. Exagerate to illustrate: Lots love dogs - up they go, Sites dribbling love and affection for dogs, usually cut & pasting from Googled Sites (there's a shock). They love the advertising & click revenue generated, not the dog, even less you. Stress is a killer, a perfect medical fact, so what happens? People get stressed out worrying about stress.

I used to build my own because way back then it was definitely cheaper, no question, so much so that even accounting for the indefinable "value" of my own labour, it was still cheaper. It was also Huge Fun, and the personal satisfaction was immense on completion, even fried the odd motherboard, but then it didn’t matter, still cheaper to get another. Today you have to be less than first grade to fry one, so anyone thinking of building your own, go fo

I listened to the MSNBC video on this one - and albeit it was the "tame lawyer" they tend to bring into these things to pad out a story, the lawyer clearly had a hard time stopping herself laughing. $700 and a bit on the side for hassle etc - fair cop - but $10m, insane. According to her any award would in any case be automatically cut in half as he didnt bother "lifting the lid" and looking when he had a known severe allegy (culpable negligence) - which was the basis of the original McDonalds

You really have to hand it to Hillary’s acumen to be so into the gay thing and still remain straight. Why? Is there a need to "remain straight"? Is there a need to have a colour change to fight racial predudice? There is certainly a need to stamp out bigotry of whatever nature, the latter
