hehe - I can imagine the Devs nattering next week "geeez now they dont want us to fix the damn bugs ..... " I agree tho - it would be neat to fight off your own creation .... Regards Zy

I've had that one at Normal & Tough levels - in my case it seems that the sphere of influence from startup never changed on any of the AI's. On one occasion I played almost right thro to see what would happen, deliberately leaving them alone - zilch - stopped in the end, by that stage had hundreds of Planets on a Gigantic Map, mega sized battleships everywhere - but each AI had two planets and a basic colony ship parked up next door to the Home Planet. Not happen often - its is rare(
Mine's clean - not getting this - if you need any data for comparison - shout I'll get it (I went from last Beta build to 1.2Beta via Stardock Central) Regards Zy
Oh Great I thought, 1.2Beta - grabbed a coffee, propped up the old elbow as you do, and settled down to read. .... and read .... and read .... and .. Good Grief! Here's an extract from the Oxford Dictionary for you guys: Sleep /sli p/ verb, noun verb (slept) To rest with your eyes closed and your mind and body not active (it goes on to give working examples which you shoudnt need - but in your case
Maww dont hesitate - I go to work in 4 hours - its 4am local and just finished a session .... just one more turn .....dominating the known Universe ..... The AI is in fact one of the stronger ones around. Is the game perfect - of course not - but then what is ... however there is little doubt the devs strive to make it as close to perfect as Market reality and economics of game development a
Definite yes - $8.95 is not going to break the bank of most people for well designed professional graphics as long as they really do contain the mega bells, whistles and eye candy. Such Professionally produced mega eye-candy graphics would also serve as inspiration to the compulsive Modder - the greatest Race of Galatic Beings in The Milky Way - who do great unpaid work for our benefit, rare beasts these days <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 A
I think there is a commercial reality appearing now that has not really been a factor before. The On Line 'Community' in general is growing exponentially, in the days of old - geeez that make me feel ready for da grave - the only mechanism was dial up. Forget any decent 'experience' with that .... From late last year onwards the on line numbers with quality bandwidth has become a real potent
Sorry double post -... Another suggestion is Hire a dedicated Marketing Manager. Say $50K salary plus incentives, that would be circa $120K management cost over the FY. Sounds a lot of additional overhead, but as you pointed out $20K for a double spread is a lot, dont take much to recoup the extra manpower overhead from preventing dud campaigns ... let alone generating a successful campaign in house without using Consultants (who in reality will come closer to $50K plus campaign c
Commercial Reality is they published the article because they thought it would be of interest to their readers - and therefore add to the drive to boost their magazine circulation.... I doubt integrity came into it. The Marketing industry has several companies/institutions that make a living generating projected income from advertising in various sources - kind of a black art, especially when you factor in self-interest in terms of companies hosting the advertising wanting to be seen
Maybe just a littel lol. Its to the left and up a bit of your last post - between the "Web Poll" and "Recent Posts" in the left Boarder
Arogance on an Internet Board is a far greater sin than ignorance
Ack - sorry about the double post forgot a suggested tweek amid the auto focus euphoria I play Gigantic maps a lot, and therefore mainly use the reduced graphics zoomed out interface. The anomalies are represented by an ASCI star - the same white star whether its a 'normal' anomaly or a black hole - the end result being I'm often off on a mandatory spin across the Galaxy as I did not zoom in to
No more auto focus..... so there is a god after all You also made the wife & the cat a very very happy - no more of my expletives, strident mutterings and random frustration induced swipes at the cat while fighting GalCiv auto focus Simply put - you're my Hero. May the Gods shower yo
Definitely needs sorting - its a bad distraction from a well deserved image of close dev/customer contact and excellent response to game issues. As a "Front of House" piece of software its defenitely becoming "tired" and not up to the usual Stardock standard - if I was in Stardock Marketing I would be beating down internal doors to get resource allocated to get it sorted. Speed of Response and slow (inconsistent) navigation would be my main comment. Those that know Stardock/GalCiv,
I had this one a few times over a short period in a recent game, not a military starbase near him. The frequent repetition got irritating alongside other things happening in the main game, so I invaded to shut him up Doubtless not what was intended by the dev, but the silly message go to me. Regards Zy
Depends how spread your Planets are. If you have it set to tight clusters then yes a ship sent over there quickly resolves the habitable planets and quickly gets round them as they are always tight into the Star. However if its set to have Planets widely spread from the Star, its useful to have as you then know where the Planets are and can send ships there, without it - on the wide spread Planet setting(s) - you end up stumbling about a bit trying to find the Planets. Can save you quite a f
Quick sanity check before sending any logs etc you might want. Thought I'd give some scenarios a go - tried Power Dual. First game I got to about 15 planets building merrily away, and realised the Drengin cultural boarders where not exactly expanding fast, in fact not at all, no sign of scout ships etc - they usually out and about v quickly. So pressed the speak button in Foreign Relations screen to see what reaction I got. "We know we are losing this war ..... but we
I am newcomer to GalCiv motivated in by personal recommends re Dev quality, openess and speed of updates. I bought GalCiv2 when it first came out. I have been watching with interest the full cycle of Bug fixes / features / exploit deletes etc etc. Very impressed, head and shoulders above other game software., certainly made a Stardock convert of me I am finding I am viewing other Stardock software wi
