Hello America, I think it is finally time that truthiness prevails here. Bear calvery just does not make sense. First of all the bears would devour their riders as fast as you can say... manwich. Secondly bears are the Number One threat to America. I call for a ban on all bears in all video games. If you want them... then you can go to canada. And remember to buy A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All Album on

I think Master of Orion 3 had an ever expanding, generic tech tree. It was confusing and very boring. Not that it couldn't have been implemented well, but it tried to be randomly generated and continuous and by doing so became no fun. I'm not opposed to the idea, just really cautious about how it could be implemented well.
That would be handy if it showed replies.
The tech development system works well as a mechanism to shift resources into, just like how you can shift resources into scouting by building more scouts, military by building more units, etc. but just done differently. But like you, I agree it'd be sweet to see an improvement over the same old.
I also agree we need to have some sort of fan-based wiki (right on, VandenbUrg). I'd be willing to edit wiki articles (especially if the wiki is MediaWiki-style) with info as things develop and I imagine quite a few others would, too. I still like the ideas listed above for domain names. ElementalGame.Info is rather bland (and I generally dislike .info domain names).
Yep. You could equip them with magic swords, armor, etc. It would be expensive but yea, the player can decide just how nasty they want their troops to be. Channeler imbues some of his essence in having an enchanted armory. The enchanted armory produces +2 plate. The plate is then shipped to your various cities (players can control priority). Player can create a unit and equip them with this magic plate. It sounds m

Think of the magic as a sort of a triangle instead of a simple line. The top of the triangle would of course be neutral and the left to right good and evil. Of couse all would be equally powerful in their own right at the extremes.
I think there should also be neutral units/races, I just don't want to see something where there's no clear
Zubaz- You just got some Karma from me for pointing this out. I'd vote for that little icon to be a bit bigger since it's sooo useful!

Later this week, hopefully, according to this post: https://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/305609/page/1
I went with the quad core keeping the future in mind. I've been quite happy with the performance, both in Sins as well as other games and general speed. While the dual core might be faster and consume a bit less wattage, I think it was a good call considering my video editing will take advantage of the multi-threading. p.s. SP1 for Vista is out.
I'm not suggesting it be brighter. Just that it's function be more obvious. A bar with arrows/lines on it doesn't imply to me that it obviously would equate to scuttling.
We're going to announce our finalize beta and release schedule shortly. Release Date is April. Part of that reason is we're upgrading our back end to have new features (like Impulse) and the other part is that I really want as much time as I can get away with to keep tweaking the computer AI before I have to move on to The Political Machine. Not to be patronizing, but are the 6 BILLION little obvious bugs that have crept through every patch going to be fixed by then? Things like the Xalax

Actually, my avatar is such because I provide Internet support for students at a University, so it's rather ironic. Although, now that you mention it, it is quite appropriate, Kruelgor. And I agree human intelligence is no match for single-player. It's just that humans are, well, a bit more unpredictable, and while that can be a good challenge, it can also result in things being too easy or not fun. I also don't have as much free time to spend on-line as I like to be around my kids a
Brad- do you do all the AI for SD? And coordinate projects? And stay active in forums? And have a family? Are you sure Frogboy/Draginol/Brad aren't all different people? Conspiracy theory- Brad used the Multiplicity software on himself! ;) Thanks for the update. I don't envy your job, but am very thankful for what you do for your customers.
Thanks for the info guys. I guess I also forgot about the fact that if you're using 4 GB on 64-bit you get the full 4 GB, too, and not 3.2 GB (or whatever the system/video eats up first). So, even though 64-bit memory requirements are greater, you should still be well off.
Please do not only cater for multi player. Us single players are customers as well, just not as vocal.I would like to see options for SP speed of the game. I am new to this sort of things and the game still plays a little fast for me.I would also like to see some sort of colonization / invasion options in 1.1 If we could see some planet based building as well that would be great. Maybe an option for an expansion. Sort of like StarWars Empire at War.Cheers MarkL
marklaur-
Vinraith- While there are certainly less things going on and features than Gal Civ 2, the real strategy here is how you choose to take actions. Which tech is best to research now? Which AI should you ally with or pick on? Is it best to spend money on a bounty or a military? Where should you send your fleet? Should you build defense in a certain location? The questions above are present in other RTSes to some degree, but many RTSes devolve into a click-fest or are single-mi
Sounds right to me. Hopefully there will be different people involved in creating the demo so they can be working on 1.04 while that's happening, but it's hard to know how many resources SD and IC have.
Updates on TA have been few since the release of Sins of a Solar Empire, mostly because Brad is having to coordinate these two projects as well as try and release The Political Machine this summer. That's a lot of stuff at one time, especially when he's involved in the AIs so much. And update would be nice, though.
