mydocuments/mygames/GC2twilightarnor/prefs I discovered that my display width and height were very high so I set them here to 1024 x 768... doing that corrected a very similar problem. Hope that helped.

Heya - just downloaded your mod - I have not played in a long time and never did a mod. So - uninformed question - where do I put the files from your mod. Know it is a noobie question but I would like to try this. Thanks in advance.
is there going to be any word soon on this game or is it a dream which shone for awhile and is now forgot?
I didn't see where anything new on Society came from E3. Was there anything that I missed? Is there any news on any aspect of this game?
This game has not even undergone beta testing. More will be announced after the convention in May, I hope.
I think that one of the best parts of GalCiv 2 is that it doesn't have Multi-player. Not all games need or should have multi-player. In my opinion Multi-player detracts from the single player game and there is a huge market for the single-player game. Civ 3 was a wonderful single player game, Civ 4 is not as nearly as good a single player game - why? because they devoted their energy towards multi-player and left out some things that were good only
I love this thread...I play single player games for the most part. My favortie strategy game is Knights of Honor which has multi-player for massive battles only. The campaign game is only single player. If it had multi-player for the campaign game it would probably mean nothing because it is a fairly unknown game and there would be few people playing it. I bought Civ 4 for the express purpose of playing MP - I ran into the problems stated in
Religion, especially in the middle ages setting, is Politics. Just look at the world today and you will see that Organized Religion is a political beast. In the middle ages the "church" gave or with held permission for war, marriage and divorce among other things. The Church called for war on countries where other religions were predominant. People of 1 religion within a country attacked people of another during times of conflict. Study the crusades, study the treatment of Jews and
perhaps mercenaries could be added in, also. Keeping in mind that after the end of a war surplus soldiers will be around. If you have just lost all but your core areas the large army you had when you were a much larger kingdom will be surplus now. I am playing Knights Honor currently and these "suplus" troops show up as avaailable mercenary units. I think this could be a good way to help out players who are expanding or players who are new to the g
Think we are waiting for official word on whats coming and when. Would love to beta test this but I can only wait till they announce it.
yes, tho It is a subject that today, must be handled with kid gloves. It would be best it they used Religions that are not real or close to real so as to not offend any of those people who have no humor when it comes to their Religion. Other than that it would be a cool concept to have in the game. IMHO.
I think supply lines are an excellent idea - and I also think - at least in the case of them any country should be able to sent anonymous raiders to loot the supply line - thus causing the invaders to have to put part of their military guarding them. The only way that the owner of the supply line would lear who was the attacker is if the attacker was repelled. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/Society/smiles/Congrats.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle
Also what is pre-medieval? is it Feudal? If so then the Empires they talk about make sense. Also - obviously - this a "Guild" concept. But in the case of Society guilds/empires make more sense to me than in RPG's. I think that there could be a lot of interchange here - especially if you are a "border" province(s) on a large empire. Of course war will be a threat as Empires collide, but oppurtunities will arise for the sly player to play off 1 empi
that does make sense since an individual Socian only lives 1 month - 3 months is several generations....maybe 1-2 hundred years. Say they live to 75 that is 225 years for 3 months. Of course war, famine, etc will play a part. If we are starting with "pre-medieval" then in 200 years we are probaly medieval if not Renaissance.
yes it makes more sense if they are doing it that way. But I think it should be adjustable - there are binge players that will play constantly for a week then you don't see them for awhile. Needs to be adjusted a lot - averages figured out etc.
Ok in the latest blurb you mentioned that warfare is just a subset of diplomacy. Diplomacy is the core of the game - you build your little province - expand a little to a certain limit peacefully then go from there. I was wondering if there will be penalties for going to war, like taxes skyrocketing, unrest in your home province which grows as the war keeps going on, things like that. I think that there almost has to be or war becomes an attractive o
I agree - I like to play alot, if my playing alot is going to incur penalties then I wont play, probably wont buy the game to begin with - which is a shame because I like the premise. I also dont particularly like the concept of the AI playing as me if I am not online while being invaded - if the AI isnt any good - everyone will wait till they dont get a response from someone and then invade. Now I know you make a good AI - I do play GC2, but there
This is my first stardock game - and I am impressed by the Stardock's desire to use the suggestions of the players - quickly and effectively. Agame developer with out an attitude of "We know best" is very cool. Can't wait.
All of a sudden - have no idea why - GC2 has stopped saving gigantic games by a name. I can quick or auto save but not save with a name. I have tried making more space clean disking and defragging - none of these have had an effect. It did save by name at 1 point but not now. Have tried it with no other saves and with saves(Quick or auto) It does save on large - but I prefer gigantic maps.
yet another question in the same vein - will there be a variety of economic models capitalism, communism, barter, etc?
I was playing a game - got a great empire going, saved returned to the gaame and there was no save file. There was no auto save because I turn it off being acutely aware of space problems on my computer. I had a brief flash of Oh man! - then started a new game. Sh-- happens - especially in a new game. Would my ranting and raving help the staff to correct any problems - NO. Do I think this is a great game and am I appreciateativeof the staff for
Excellent game - Am loving it on my 4th day of playing. Alot of excellent feedback which I didnt scan all of - so if this is a repeat I am sorry. Black holes are an important resource for scouting and colonization - once found can they be made a red light on the map for easy ID? I have one in my current game but by the time i figured a strategy of how to use it I lost it.
