Same thing here as of two days ago. The message I get is either "Feed not available. Try again later" or one that says "Internet not available". If I go to the actual site I can get the weather for my area with no problems. I have tried different zip codes and cities but nothing works. I remember seeing a thread about this last year but I don't know how it all turned out. I know, I could always do a search but since someone else here has the same problem i will just tag along with their

Got it! At least it seems to be working. (We need a sign that signifies fingers crossed.) I went into the place where BB recommended and played around for a while. it was not quite as easy as simply changing the Icon font. There also seems to be a connection with the overall font size that you pick. And, yes, you have to reboot to get the final result because what first appears is not the same as the last. Now I'm almost afraid to select skin that I have modified for fear of what will show up. :

Virtually every WB I get has the font size in the main Windows Explorer window too small. The location I am refering to is the listing of folders/files that appears across the middle when you open My Computer. The first window shows the hard drives, the DVD players, the floppy, etc. I have always used SkinStudio to change the numbers for the font size. Typically the number that I need to change is SystemFont 5 listed under Misc/Fonts For Classic Widgets. At the moment I am trying to&

I did a quick search and couldn't find an answer for this. Can you change the icon for the weather docket in OD 1.9 Pro? I like all my icons to have a similar theme and have always been able to "right click/dock entry properties/change image". I did a Windows search through my drive and found some links to accuweather and OD weather in various places including some flash files. However, nothing showed an actual icon. I am guessing that the icon is actually being created straight from w

Want to see animated wallpaper take off in a big way? Make them easy to use, but more important, provide a sexual theme. I'm serious. Sex was what brought the VCR into nearly every home even if most people deny that. We know from umpteen studies that most online surfers spend time seeking out sexual sites of one sort or the other. This is especially so with people at work which is why the issue of online access/abuse is such a big topic in virtually every company regardless of how they may phras

"Privacy nuts have been getting increasingly nervous about the power a handful of companies have to gather and sort personal data." Privacy nuts? You mean that people who want to protect their privacy are nuts? Crazy? Out of touch with reality? OK, can I pick what kind of nut I am? You know. Walnut, peanut, cashew, almond, etc.

Fantastic addition. This is exactly what so many of us have wanted. In just a few minutes I found the answer to something that has bugged me every time I try to change the fonts in a default WindowBlind using Skin Studio. Thanks.

You've got to be kidding. That socalled survey was nothing more than the typical consumer prespam scam. "Fill out this easy survey and tell us the information we can sell to companies who want to offer you GREAT DEALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, this weekend only, on your good credit and only for a select number of valued customers." How much do I spend on computer upgrades and how often? What am I planning on purchasing in the immediate future? How old am I and what do I do for a living? And a chance at $50

This was one of the most interesting articles I have seen in quite a while. And the comments that followed were equally worth reading. I guess it says something about where I have been hanging out these days that I was so surprised to see such a large number of opinions expressed in a well thought out and coherent manner. Thanks for sharing this link with us.

My computer is my doorway to an immense world. OK, maybe it's my ISP but the computer is the car I travel with. I can go most anywhere and see most anything. And that includes things I never even knew existed. My computer is my sound system that I rock out on every night. The Time Machine DJ at your service with over 8,000 mp3s. Rock? Classical? New Age? Music videos? Something for everyone and great speakers to bath you in their sound. My computer is my favorite toy. Last wee

You're asking that question on this web site? Skins are like, well, like sex. At least for a man anyway. You always need more no matter how much you already have and it needs to visually evolve. I change my skins all the time. Sometimes it will be an entire desktop and other times it will be just one piece. Skins are a form of expression and fit perfectly into our way of life. I consider them in the sa

Everyone's a winner in these kind of things. People are encouraged to skin and submit their ideas. Look at the great offerings we had not only for this event but for Valentine's, Christmas, and Halloween. I can hardly wait for the next holiday. And if I ever win the lottory I'll offer a super prize for a complete suit just for my birthday! Having a mini contest adds to the entire event. Someone who m

This changes the fonts on the task bar but does nothing to those in Windows Explorer. Correct? I often can't handle the extremely small size of fonts in Explorer that many WBs install and change them using SkinStudio. This has been a long process of learning how to reverse engineer the skins and I am not really sure if I am doing things the easiest way. I open the WB icon and click on Edit in SkinStudio. When SS opens I click on Miscellaneous in the left hand side box and then on Fonts

I'm going to be sorry to see CompUSA go but it's been obvious for a while that they simply can't compete. For uneducated B&M buyers Best Buy is the place to spend your money. It appeals to the people who enjoy being bombarded with pop culture of the lowest denomination. Kind of like Blockbuster, McDs, and the like. They haven't a clue as to what they are buying but it feels good. CompUSA actually tried to include items geared more towards the geek crowd. However, Frys now has that marke

Reading the fine print on this elsewhere makes it clear that Jobs is only discussing this because of problems in Europe with the companies own DRM. Whatever. While I certainly sympathize with the media companies, to a point, it is clear that their attempts to monopolize and restrict distribution have failed. Personally, I would not pay 99 cents for a song especially if I was severely limited as to its usage. I have bought music from the Russian site allofmp3 for around 33 cents a song

Microsoft has a legitimate right to protect its property. I'm not really sure what they should be doing to insure that people use genuine versions of their products. Enough people have complained about "false" alarms to show that WGA is not perfect. But again, what is MS suppose to do? I've had to call their desk in India several times after reinstalling XP but it only took a minute or so and I have always gotten a new serial number. Long term I agree with those who see a day when we w

"Are they annoying?" All ads are annoying and these types are getting progessively worse. Yahoo has been running some extremely bothersome ads within their site which begin playing an audio track. Talk about a pain. I visit one of their international sites and these kind of ads are now throughout the site. And to make sure that you get the point they are combining them with overlay ads that cover up whatever you really want to see. And there is no way to shut these things down either. Y

Not only was the starting article itself an excellent one but so have the comments that have followed. I would not be so worried about some of the items that you discuss as this very long thread shows there is a very articulate and strong community with interest in this site. The fact that people come and go is nothing new. As long as you are able to integrate new blood into the system you will be fine. And I also would not worry so much about your own

I have most on your list. Here are some others that I MUST have. Picture viewer - IrfanView (It's free, simple to use, and packs quite a few extras) Graphics editor - PaintShop Pro (I never got on the Adobe bus and it is probably too late) Music player - WinAmp (Life without music is pretty dull and this is my favorite player) Music file converter - Xilisoft Audio Converter (Too many file types and you need something easy and fast

Political correctiveness is a pet peeve of mine. One group can say whatever they wish while another group is slammed for saying the exact same thing. Or people are attacked for saying something that is obviously the truth. And to add insult to the situation this jerk gets off for having child porn. Talk about screwed up priorities. No wonder our societies are falling apart.
