But when the argument comes down to "Vista is dumb because you need a good video card!" then I get frustrated. Shut up and enjoy XP if you can't afford a video card.
For a lot of people with more than 1-2-year-old machines, you're not talking about a simple video card upgrade to ensure that you can run Vista well. I have a single-core CPU, just upgraded my RAM from 1 to 2GB and an nvidia 7300GS card. Now, except for my CPU, I could run most versions of Vista pretty well (

I'm just wondering about whether it would be practical to break the OD gallery into several separate subcategories for individual icons, iconpacks, dock backgrounds, et cetera? To me, this would make navigating the pages much more manageable if you are simply looking for a particular one of those items. Just a thought.

Well, it sounds like you just want WindowBlinds to me. If you go here ([link="https://www.wincustomize.com/store/?type=software"]WWW Link[/link]), you can buy the full version. You may want to try using the OD free version for a while and see whether it suits your needs. The primary difference between the free and plus versions is the ability to use tabbed docks. If you need more functionality, you can buy the plus version from the same link above. I hope this helps.

Interesting thread. Well, the first time I saw Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal, probably, because of the knight's "victory." The first time I saw Robert Zemeckis's film version of Sagan's Contact, because it was a flawed but still pretty clever interpretation of one of Carl Sagan's best books. There are probably quite a few, but that's all I can think of offhand. . .

Well, I don't know of a freeware alternative, but Desktop Icon Toy is a good program that I have used in the past. I try not to keep too many icons on my desktop now, so I've quit using it for now, but it may be better than the above program. The website is here: [link="http://www.idesksoft.com/"]WWW Link[/link]

Zoomba said: So some of these skins will be from MyColors Themes huh? Will I get a discount on buying the full theme if I already have the skin? Yes. We'll be offering MyColors Theme discounts similar to how we offer discounts to Object Desktop users. Full details on the discount will be posted when the first MyColors Theme using a WC Skin goes up. So, I'll be the cheap bugger to ask this question: if you are an ODNT subscriber and a WC subscriber, do you get multiple d
The above is the issue editor for The Political Machine 2008. In it, I must go through every conceivable issue, write a description and then put in the values. The values on position are between -10 (strongly against) and positive 10 (strongly in favor). The other variable (new in this version) is how important the issue is which is on a scale from 1 to 10. I also have the ability to go and create different values in different states. We have a lot of census and polling
I find a large problem with EA, in that games come out unfinished and therefor, the expansion comes out costing us another such and such amount to finish the game. Look at Black and White, Fable, given this is from the same game developer. Some of the Battlefield series. When I had an Xbox, I dreaded any EA sports game on the market. So I guess I might have to wait till spore comes out with an expansion and that may solve all my problems.
Regarding the question of
you missed dawn of war 2, and C&C red alert 3. Its what I get for not paying enough attention to the lists of sequels.
You're right--I did miss those. Hm. Well, I have a pretty long list for RPGs (I've played most of the good ones going back to the days of Wasteland and the SSI Gold Box series), a smaller list of adventure games (a few of the old-school Sierra games), a still smaller list for simulations (although just as old--I played and loved MicroProse's ada
I won't bore you with the dozen or so other problems I've experienced with this company over time, but I am absolutely certain that this game is being over-hyped, and that EA will maintain the same "customer-friendliness" it always has.
It's unclear to me how you can be certain that something is over-hyped. Is it because you don't like the premise behind the game or because you have a very low opinion of Will Wright's previous work? I'm not a Sims player, but I did

I think that the respondents who are in a tizzy about paying $10 for the standalone Creature Creator should get a grip. It's not a demo; it's a full-fledged editor that you can use (if you wish to do so) to build a lot of creatures that you can import into the game for use once you pick up the actual game. (Incidentally, there will be a "demo" version of the Creature Creator available for free on the website.) If tweaking ships or creatures is your thing, is $10 really an exorbitant price to pay

Dr Guy, I think you are missing or glossing over my point, which was that the Dixie Chicks had no "agenda," as you put it, until Natalie Maines made a single comment at a concert and there was a subsequent tremendous backlash as a result. Look at any of their earlier albums (pre- Taking the Long Way ) and see if you can find a track that demonstrates a specific political viewpoint. Are you really suggesting that singers should not be allowed to express views at their concerts?
I support Michael Moore more than teh Dixie Chicks. The Dixie Chicks are leveraging their fame that was generated by their customers demand for their music titles. Michael Moore, by contrast, has been very clear about what he is selling.
Hm. I'm not sure I completely understand what you mean by this, but the point I was trying to make is that, while you may not go to their concerts to hear their pol

I tried several defraggers and came to the conclusion that PerfectDisk is the fastest. It's not very fast--it usually takes 4-5 hours for a complete defrag, so I tend to run it overnight, but I've left other defraggers going for upwards of 8-10 hours before.

Personally, I'm all for anything that means enhancing Impulse and Stardock's content-delivery systems. Also, it's more or less a given that when you buy a game SD's involved in, there'll be a lot of updates/bugfixes--you're not stuck with an "out of the box" product. These are definitely good things. On the other hand, I'm not really excited about Demigod. The developer comments by Chris Taylor, quoted earlier in the thread, indicate that the gameplay is being modelled after the
The same would hold for Michael Moore (which translates to me not giving support to his films). The Dixie Chicks are another group that has victimized their sales in my area.
I don't quite understand how you equate Michael Moore and the Dixie Chicks. Michael Moore, whether you agree or disagree with him, has never made any bones about the fact that he makes movies motivated and informed by
