Wow, i can't thank you enough, Maxxxx! Turning off NoExecute completley fixed the problem. You know, if it wasn't for you i would still be banging my head against the wall trying to get this fixed. It's obvious that no one else knew that WindowFX could be disabled by that "NoExecute" thing. Maybe you Stardock people should make a sticky about this issue in c

Cool, thanks! I just figured out how to use the shipyard. I love it! I made a ship with one Impulse Mk II engine, and two missle launchers - it absolutley owns the AI! But, i have yet another question. I wanted to see all of the default ships i could build - and i researched very far into the Weapons, Ship Defense, and i just got done researching "Superior Hulls" and i still cannot get any different warfare ships besides the Defender, and the Star Fury. Why is that? Shouldn't i be able to

Alright, well as far as habitable planets go, does the ship need to travel all the way to it? And, when it does, where exactly does it tell you wether the planet can support life? (Sorry, i might of missed it somewhere, still getting used to the interface). -Thanks for your help!

Okay 1) Well, i have a weapon on my little defender, but maybe i just right-clicked in the wrong place (I didn't get the dialog box to declare ware with whoever). 2) Yes, i'm unfortunatley using the default ships. I actually didn't know there was a ship-building feature in the game. I'm sad now, i progressed pretty far in my battle <img src

Yeah i'm dissapointed that it's limited to that also. It would be cool to make your own maps, so "Giant" planets could be made - or maybe even things like wormholes that could suck your whole solar-system into it

Hi everyone, I posted this in the GalCiv II Game talk forums because i couldn't find a forum titled "Help" or anything. Sorry if it's the wrong forum Okay, i have serveral questions for you guys. First, i have an enemy contstructor headed into my solar system (Our diplomatic relations are "Wary"). I've got a defender that i want to attack the ship - how can i do that? I

Well, i can give you the info, but a screenshot would require a freeze of my PC so i doubt i could get one. And where can i find the build # of the program?

That's odd, i'm having the same problem too. I've actually had WindowBlinds 5 installed for some time now, it had always worked in the past. But for some reason the other day, i fired WB5 up and i had the exact same problem. I eventualy had to hold down the power button on my PC to restart. Perhaps Windows Update could be the culprit? I remember them releasing an update related to the GUI. Any help is greatly appriciated guys!</fo

Hey, I posted a problem about WindowFX not applying shadows or effects to Windows explorer, and alot of you seem to also have this problem. I put it in the wrong section though, it should be in this forum. Here you go: https://forums.stardock.com/?ForumID=166&AID=93562

I also have the exact same problem. Plus, none of the minimizing / maximizing effects will work with explorer. I don't know why this is happening - I'm trying to narrow it down. What's you're PC specs? Mine is as follows: AMD Athlong 3400+ 64 bit processor 1 GB DDR RAM ATi Radeon X800XL 256MB Video Card Windows XP Pro SP2 (build 2600) with patched uxtheme.dll

I also have a Radeon X800XL... Window FX won't apply shadows (or any effects to explorer) and it makes the taxbar (system tray, etc) run very "sluggish". I'm using the Catalyst 5.9 drivers. Window FX actually worked fine until i updated to WinXP Pro... kind of odd. Re-installing AND deleting WindowsFX from the registry doesn't get it working again. Maybe it's because i have a patched uxtheme.dll ? <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smiles/SadAngry.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm

Well, Firefox uses it's own themes, and is completley seperate from Windows as far as menus go. It's normal for them not to be transparent. You would have to download an Extension for firefox / thunderbird to change the right-click menus. I'm using an extension called Cute Menus - gives you icons on all right-click menus

Hello, For some bizzare reason, when using Icon Packager v3.0a, if you browse for an image in Photoshop, it won't show any pictures when viewing in thumbnail mode. Just the text below an image. This has happened before & after re-installing Windows. I had to downgrade to v2.5 to fix this problem. I know many of you here might use Photoshop... Have any of you guys experienced this problem? Thanks.

Hello, for some reason when WinFX is enabled, i will suffer from sluggish performance with the program. For example, when i click the arrow in the system tray to see hidden icons, it will expand very slowly. As a matter of fact, the whole taskbar is sluggish with Window FX. Not to mention, no shadows or effects are applied to most windows. What's puzzling to me, is that on this same exact system, it did not previously do that until i re-installed Windows. I tried re-installing WindowF
