Sluggish performance with WindowFX
from
Stardock Forums
Hello,
for some reason when WinFX is enabled, i will suffer from sluggish performance with the program. For example, when i click the arrow in the system tray to see hidden icons, it will expand very slowly. As a matter of fact, the whole taskbar is sluggish with Window FX. Not to mention, no shadows or effects are applied to most windows. What's puzzling to me, is that on this same exact system, it did not previously do that until i re-installed Windows. I tried re-installing WindowFX,but it remembered what application exclusions i added, which tells me it wasn't fully un-installed.
I love WindowFX, it smoothes windows so much, i don't know why this is happening. Coult it be because i'm using a patched UX theme file?
My PC specs:
AMD Athlon 3400+ 64-bit processor
1 GB of DDR RAM
ATi Radeon X800XL 256MB
Windows XP Pro SP2 w/ patched UXtheme.dll file.

Turning off NoExecute completley fixed the problem. You know, if it wasn't for you i would still be banging my head against the wall trying to get this fixed. It's obvious that no one else knew that WindowFX could be disabled by that "NoExecute" thing. Maybe you Stardock people should make a sticky about this issue in case anyone has the same problem with WindowFX not working.
