I seem to be one of the few people that have had no driver issues with Vista. I installed the beta to a secondary hard drive, and booted into Vista. It searched for drivers and found them all. About 8-10 I think. Some for gamepads, my camera, my audio, mouse, keyboard, and I think some others I wasn't sure what they were for. Do most people install the Vista Beta/RC's over top of their WinXP OS, or on a partition/secondary drive?

If you still have the .psd from photoshop, just hide the background layer (click the little eyeball in the layers panel) and then simply save as a .png. If you don't have the .psd and only have the single layer image, you can still get rid of the white background. Just open the image in photoshop, and double click the layer in the layers panel. Then a little box pops up, just click okay and the layer will no longer be a locked background. Now select the white background with the magic w
I had a 3.8 I think for the Beta right before RC1. I use nVidia GeForce FX 5200, 1 GB Ram... umm its not a horrible computer, and its pretty good. I'll try out RC2 this Friday and hope it works lol. I have 3 DVD's left and I plan to use them to backup other data, so virtual drives are nice. Just 4 (almost 3) more days to go until I can test this sucker out <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="a
I hope my computer can handle RC2. RC1 refused to install. All the betas worked flawlessly. Also, you can download the .iso's and mount them on a virtual drive instead of buring to DVD's/ordering. It's legal, and you can do it free with Deamon tools. Deamon tools kinda sucks... but its free. Alcohol 120% is payware, but much better .
I too get that error. Error: Sorry, you can only vote once! I haven't voted at all yet
I've also had this (Firefox 1.5.0.7... whatever the newest version is ). It rarly happens (once a week or so, and I am on the site maybe a total of 2-3 hours thruout the day each day). I just cancel the request for a name and pass, and then try the link again, and it works. Interesting tho... I thought it was just me
Can you be more specific? - What version of MSN are you using? - What version of WB are you using? Posting the WB stats can help. - Is your MSN messenger patched? Or are there any plugins?
He wants to do this WITHOUT icon packager... And as far as I know, its only possible if you reshack the .dll file that contains the icons. It is in the System32 folder I think.. but I can't remember the name, sorry . Shell32.dll pops into my head, but that may not be it. Be careful if you reshack stuff like this >_>.
Downloaded fine, installed fine, loaded fine, audio quality = no difference. To me, foobar and Xion sound the exact same. I have replygain, and a bunch of configured settings in foobar however. But all that configuration is a given if you plan to use foobar... Out of the box, Xion is pretty nice . It uses almost 20 MB of memory for me tho <img src="http://im
I wish I could skin, cause I have some cool ideas for this. - Minimize/Maximize/Exit buttons could be 3 different kinds of donut. - Loading icon in explorer could be a donut that slowing spins while being eaten. - Sprinkles on the taskbar and window frames. Along with glaze. - Start menu could be a coffee cup with a half donut dunked in and a straw. The sounds of this skin make me hungry <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Sad.gif" border=0 ALIGN="abs
No problem werewolf ^_^. Glad I could help
The colorful glossy one for sure. Much nicer looking than the 3D L's laying there.
Happy birthday Jafo . I've seen you around a bit, hope you have a great day.
Yay, that worked (formatted the drive first, then uninstall and reboot). Not sure why it didn't the first few times lol. So thanks for your help guys, you all ROCK !
You wouldn't happen to be thinking of Dreamland by JJ Ying would you? Click For Link
Rightclick is part of OD correct? If it is... I have always wanted the ability to edit OTHER rightclick menus and not just the desktop one. I have some nice ideas on how to go about this to make it smooth and simple. Also have more cross program interaction. WB on Vista already skins "extra" parts of the system by using other sections of the windowblind skin. OB2 can copy your taskbar image and use it for its own bars. Stuff like that for widgets or object dock would be pretty
A good philosophy is to let those at the 'bleeding edge' suffer all the failures and iron out the bugs before jumping on the bandwagon. Makes sense Agreed. Altho, Vista runs sooo much better on this computer than XP does (no idea why... XP seems to use a hell of a lot more memory than Vista does <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Ew.
You're very welcome
Quite simply. Unzip the MAKO dock onto your desktop. Now there should be a folder with a bunch of images in it. Take that folder, and paste it here: C:\Program Files\Stardock\ObjectDock\Backgrounds Reload OD, and it should be selectable in your list of docks . EDIT: Upon downloading the dock, I noticed it had 4 folders. Paste all 4 into that directory, and they are all selecta
I can confirm the WMP issue. I never use WMP, so its not really a problem for me however. The issue still occurs without OD running... so it may not be the problem. PowerDVD works fine with and without OD running, so I'm not sure whats going on there. I just set up a quick tabbed dock to test, nothing elaborate. My system is WinXP SP2, P4 3.6GHz, 1 GB Ram, Nvidia FX 5200, one monitor, and I was running just WMP/PowerDVD, OD and firefox.
What is this "buying music" you are all refering to ? Not to make DRM even worse, but if they really wanted to keep it purly for the buyer (that the right word?) they should have burn protection. So it strictly can't be burnt onto the CD. Or have it unplayable by another source... or when ripped you get a bogus file. I'll stick to limewire <img sr
No, i don't I now have the trial from stardock. To be honest, I highly doubt that . About the video thing... it used to do that for me also. Only with WMP tho (11, never tried classic). WMP is an overly packed hunk of software that isn't really good f
I just installed the trial, and came across a bug/problem. I currently have the Buuf WB skin installed, but when I set my bar to use the current windowblinds skin, it uses the XP blue. I have it set to use the taskbar image. I have tried a bunch of settings, but no luck yet... all XP blue stuff. Am I missing something? Does this not work with WB5? Not the newest WB5 (its only version 5.0 or something...)? Some help?
I could not create a new basic logical partition (I did not have that option). Sorry to get back to you so late... my computer is slowly getting worse >_ For starters, I rebooted my system, and my drivers for my CD/DVD Drives are not being detected. I have AV and firewall software running 24/7, so its no virus, I know that. The drives themselves are however. I don't know whats going on... After each reboot something new seems to be screwed up. The place I bought my computer f
I use Photoshop CS2, and it seems to do the job for me. Then if I want to convert my icons to ICO format I use Axilias Icon Workshop. Works for me.
