Zubaz, whilst the acknowledgement for the posted feedback is nice can I ask a little more. In this thread https://forums.stardock.com/309116/page/3 in post 53 I asked the following question: "However I'd just like to ask Stardock if the uninstaller routine for Iconpackager using Impulse has been updated so that default icons can be set and will remain if Iconpackager is uninstalled?" Nearly 2 months later there is no clear response and obviously this thread indicates t

I had the same problems and reinstalled Vista as I had not seen "the fix" and it was time to clear the clutter anyway. However I'd just like to ask Stardock if the uninstaller routine for Iconpackager using Impulse has been updated so that default icons can be set and will remain if Iconpackager is uninstalled? Thank you

Brad, I'm just a user but looking at MyColors gave me a thought. Stardock apps largely fall into 2 camps - How it Looks and How it works. Windowblinds and IconPackager are in the first whilst Right Clik and Keyboard LaunchPad are in the second. DesktopX is a bit of both. I think most users are content with changing how their desktop looks as its "safe". When asked to change how it works they baulk. I'm sure many people see a great DesktopX Screenshot load it and then leave i

I'm also running Keepsafe 2.0 on Vista with no problems as was previously the case on XP with ver. 1.00. The interface is very clear and the added functionality is just great. Congratulations to the developers - it really is a nice piece of software :D

Since the last update of MyColors to version 2.00.186 I keep getting offered an update to Quest which apparently downloads and installs. The Theme can be applied successfully (blind, icons, wall and Gadgets). Nets time I open MyColors I ge offered the same update and so we continue in a loop. It only seems to be that theme as Aquamarime and Gyre updated successfully. Just thought I'd post as it could become annoying if there really is an update as I'm ignoring the message at the momen

As a previous WinXP user that now has Vista this is really good news! I really miss being able to use a lot of skins and Icon Packages on Vista that I could before. A skin created for Vista from scratch is IMHO far more complete than an XP skin that covers some but not all of the visual elements. Are there any plans to update the Premium Skins/Suites such as Liquidox or Essorants Skinpack 2. Both would look great but the former would look magnificent with Vista Icons as well.

Has anyone thought of revamping the WinCustomize Browser? I used it to great effect on XP but it doesn't render at all well on Vista. Like SD Central it's looking a bit tired particularly when the websites have been so greatly improved. A big issue for me amongst all of this is Vista compatability. Whilst one can now filter the website for Vista Blinds/WB6/both, oher library areas are not so friendly eg. Iconpackager where it's not always clear whether a package is or isn't for Vista.<b

Can someone let us know which of the applications within Object Desktop are Vista Compatible? or which aren't if it's shorter. The info on the website is a bit dated eg. Stardock Central itself is not shown as okay for Vista whereas WB6 is. I'm keen to retart my twaeking now that Vista is happy and I'd rather not blow it by installing something I shouldn't. Many Thanks

And what do you think of the argument that most WindowBlinds skins are ugly? And if so, what can be done? When running XP I used WB constantly and built up a decent collection of skins. Since moving to Vista that same drive to move away from the default OS skin seems to have diminished. I did take a look at the Vista only skins and nothing really leapt out. I am not criticising the artists as I have a truckload of paid for premium content but that urge to change the GUI ain't b

One can only ponder what the Operating System environment on our desktops would have been/looked like today, had there been genuine and ongoing competition at least as between OS/2 and Windows. Your short article Frogboy is yet again a reminder that the history of Microsofts rise to prominence is not solely a tale of its own actions but includes the misfortunes or bad decisions by others.

Brad, I've got 2 questions. Firstly, in all the screenshots I've seen of WB5.5 running on Vista, none shows the start menu. (I may have missed it). If I use one of the skins I ran under XP on Vista say for example "WC Select" does my Vista Start Menu still have the Search area visible and useable and are the Hibernate, Lock and Shutdown option arrow skinned and available? Secondly. If I want to manually change a desktop icon for a program that I ha

I reckon it will rise until people realise that: -the driver support is terrible for a new OS. Some hardware items do not have Vista drivers available with all the previous XP functionality. -the Upgrade Home Vista versions won't clean install, you have to install on top of XP. Whatever happened to the earlier compliance checking routine? -one does get tired of "glass" effects None the less the "I've got to have that" mentality will win out over the "do I really need it" mindset

It's great that business is booming but I was thinking that you guys and gals still seem to enjoy offering constantly improving customization software. Any buggy versions are fixed pronto ad I reckon that you discover them first of all cause you still like to play

Running latest Beta on WinXP SP2 with only 2 issues. The first is the less than simple wallpaper setting procedure -it takes a few goes and in my case thew only way to get the wall to 'stick" was to change it using WB. Previously a right click on the desktop or setting the wall by right clicking the image would hold. Would it really be hard to add the old check box to the advanced menu choices in WB. I also note that I can't find the option to use

For those of us that like a clean desktop and hence don't use ObjectDock, I'm thinking that an update to ObjectBar would be welcome. The updated version of WindowsFX is terrific so I'd let the gurus loose on ObjectBar. Easier customized menus that don't sit on the desktop appeal to me.

The program looks fantastic but I need to clarify a point so please excuse my ignorance. I'll number the points for convenience. As of now I'm running a WindowBlind with all the appearance changes that result. Lets call that theme "WBTheme". 1.If I install and run WinStep do its elements get skinned with that WBTheme if I don't load a NextStart Theme? 2. Say I the like the look of the "Coyote" NextStart theme and want to use

Dear Brad, Sounds certainly fit the "brief" of customizing the Windows environment. As one who has had two recent full Windows installs due to a WB5 and Icon Packager imcompatability which was beyond any system restore my current thoughts are I'd rather be looking at a silent stable Desktop than watching it crash whilst listening to an Aardvark

Tried Hankers suggestion but to no avail. I guess what's now annoying is that IP won't apply the icons and seems to prevent me from doing so manually. Corky O when you say "Maybe the update will fix the issue" do you mean to Icon Packager or the Icon Pack. By the way CO have installed the 5.9 Drivers for our X700Pro cards as per the what drivers work thread and things are far more stable than with 5.1X - thanks for the tip. <img src="http:/

The Captains screenshot is exactly the same as my control panel, that is, we both only have the same 8 Apogee icons applying to the same Control Panel items. I wonder if my first observation is significant in that these seem to be *.cpl items that are not found in the Windows\System32 directory. I don't think its coincidence that two separate users end up with exactly the same 8 out 23 icons succesfully loading or put another way what are the chances o

Am using the Apogee Icons (how great are they!) but find I cannot get all the Icons in Control Panel to skin. Have WinXP2 SP2 with WB5 5.00[b] 009 and Icon Packager 3.10.102. The sub package applies correctly to those Control Panel Icons that used to change with earlier versions eg. fonts, Admin Tools and Folder options but not to other things like System, User Acount or Date and Time. The only thing I've altererd was rename "iprepair.dll" because of

Dear Neil in my last post I neglected to ask as to how one removes SDMCP as per your suggestion. I can't find a discrete single entry in Startup but I have found 2 HKLM AND 1 HKCU entry in the Registry. The last is for MCPStarupEnabled and has a Dword value which I guess could be changed. Sorry for t
