http://www.istartedsomething.com/20070614/windows-ultimate-extras-sham/ This link will open up a bunch of people's eyes about Ultimate Extras and Dreamscene. For those who don't want to read it all, The Extras team has been disbanded (if it ever existed) and Dreamscene's biggest problem is that it never worked right with right-to-left language based systems and its likely a problem that they can't fix, thus it will be in a perpetual beta

VideoLan Client. You can add it to the disabled list and the gui will work, however if you use it to play video in your web browser windowblinds overlays the window makeing you think that its not displaying any video but you can hear it. If you disable windowblinds completely it works fine.

unfortunately you cannot stop someone from commenting about how a program was in 1998 when they first tried 1.0 dispite the fact that that was 3 versions ago. Look at windows for example, some people refuse to admit that it has improved over the years. Its the price of success. Stardock has the following people to worry about. 1. Freeware zealots, 2. I tried it 6 years ago and it sucked then so it does now people. 3. People still pissed o

I can see his point if shes still is going to have those teeth for a few years more. Pretty much every tooth I lost growing up I got a cavity in it a few months before I lost it and I have pretty good teeth. (only issue I've have is a gap which they hounded me for years to get braces for. its not really noticeable at all) Hell, as I remember my dentist had a chuckle about after the 3rd or 4th time it happened.

If you think about it too what is the main reason why some programs are not skinned? Because its too freaking hard to make a skin for them! Very few of them make it possible to bring up a proper skin in short order, you either have to know xml or put up with some other weird format and then accept th

Trypical bellsouth bro. Im going with them currently myself. I canceled DSL service with them in july and now three months later its still is not taken care of. August bill still had it and had to call to have them remove it but in the meanwhile it shows that I still owe them 50 dollars. same with september. Now their answer then was that they can only do that type of credit once a month in October it should be taken care of. Got the bil

Dont have the alignment problem but the problem that I've had that popped up around 4.38c with quicklaunch stretching all the way out to the system tray is still there. mildly annoying.

I just have a simple question. The tab position option is grayed out on top (for always on top I guess) is it meant to be grayed out at the moment? what I want to do is have it always on the bottom or at least come up only when the mouse is on the bottom of the screen Im using it for an HTPC and the tab stay on top at all times even over video! mildly annoying

I would post images of it but since Apple is kind of protectant of this, and has allready asked sites to take pics of the widgets down I wont post. Wait a few hours and try www.thinksecret.com or mac rumors. Anyways, widgets, or "a set of accessory apps" as they like to call it strongly reminds me of DX. Its not nowhere near as powerful as it uses Javascript mostly but they do seem to be awefuly similar. then again Konfabulator also seems to be simiar to DX http://www.apple.com/macosx/tige

WMA is metallic sounding. to get rid of that you got to do at least 128k and that size you might as well do mp3. Heck, why not go AAC where it will at least sound like a 192k mp3 then at that rate? As for only one player only playing AAC, its not true. Theres been a winamp plugin for months, and Realplayer 10 does it too all without stripping the copy protection. Its not that hard for others to support it. Much better then the crap you have to sometimes go through with lisences on W

another easy way to tell (at least in my experience) is how it acts on changing skins. 3.x blacked everything out then changed, while alpha 4 pretty much changed everything almost instantaneously.

Winamp originally was planned to be freeware but his parents convinced him to charge for it, although he didnt cripple it in any way. So technically every official version up until the AOL days has been shareware. As for windowblinds I remember using it back in 1997, at like version .21 or something like that. About all it could do then however was add the the then super cool gradient effect to windows that was available in what was then known as windows '97. Been hooked ever since.

If thats the 'webshots' that im thinking of its cheesy, a resource hog and all it really does is download a new picture daily. It also hard cuts between images. Im specifically looking for something that morphs, fades or changes gradually into a different wallpaper. I guess its something you have to see to get, very cool looking. Maybe, this is something that Mr. Frogboy could look at in the future! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/lol.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle

I know that most of us here dont know what im talking about so ill try to explain it clearly. in OSX for the mac there is an option where you can put pictures or wallpapers in a folder and the OS will randomly pick pictures out and post them as wallpaper at preset times or system events. While changing wallpapers it gracefully fades in and out to each one. Also, because it uses OpenGL to do it (I think) there is no noticeable speed hit while doing it. I've seen macs play dvds while

Rather use trillian. Does what its supose to and your connected to all the big boys in the same amount of memory that ICQ by itself used. I must admit however, that if I had to choose, it would be MSN however, never have liked AIM, and no one uses Yahoo.

seriously people, this isnt for us. Its not meant to target us, 99.999% of people here will ignore, and delete it within the first 60 seconds of getting windows installed. However, its serious marketing tool for joe/jodie consumer. Its kind of funny that no one else thought of a way to get around the icon bit, unless they think that M$ would get pissed, and say they were breaking contract.
