OK, I uninstalled WB, TM, and SC. I then deleted any left behind files in Program Files. Reboot. Installed SC; reboot. Installed WB; reboot. Installed TM; reboot. Everything seemed to be working just fine until explorer locked up again about 20 minutes ago. This time it was the taskbar, nothing worked. I could Alt+Tab between windows and any open explorer window seemed to work fine. WB version is currently 6.00.005. I'll update to the current beta although I really don't like running beta softwa

I'm willing to try. Seems like uninstalling and then reinstalling gets things working again. Just an update on what I've done so far. I've updated to the latest Omega drivers and I'm getting the same explorer hangs. I've looked for the last ATI Catalyst drivers that actually supported the x300 mobility card, but haven't had any luck yet. Dell's last driver update was 2005, and I certainly don't want to go that far back in driver history. I'll uninstall everything, then reinstall, and then will r
Naw, not much of a lawn at this moment. Texas doesn't have good grass weather. Just some ruts and gouges. I did that info in the first post, but here it is again. Well, all isn't well, although this is the only problem I've had today. When trying to open an mht file from my documents folder explorer crashed. When trying to apply the classic style it didn't paint the taskbar like it should.
I haven't had any problems today. Last night I transfered pics from my SD card to my laptop (someone wrecked and rolled into our front yard ) using the transfer wizard. This always locked up before. This time it was as smooth as butt-ah. Guess this ends my involvement in this thread.
OK, I rebooted and WB automatically opened. I tried applying the Aerial and Acrylic skins and they both reverted to Windows Classic. I opened TM and it hung for about 30 seconds on the Visual Styles screen. It then came up and I tried applying a different skin, this time it worked. I then opened WB and tried the Acrylic and Aerial skins again, this type they worked. I then tested some functions (searching, right-clicking, etc...) withi
Hmm, it didn't ask me to reboot. I'll try that once I'm able to. SDC didn't give me that version # when I ran it again, but then again it could be that it didn't because I didn't reboot. Will post back here once I've done this. Thanks elvee.
OK, just bought WB6 the other day. Great program but it started locking up when I was in an Explorer window. Sometimes there'd be a delay in the action I wanted or explorer would crash. When WB6 wasn't loaded I never noticed this behavior and haven't since turning WB off. OS is XP SP2 with an ATI x300 (256mb dedicated) video card on a Dell 9300 laptop. Here's what WB is telling me: WindowBlinds version : WindowBlin
Well, I figured I'd try something and it's made the matter worse. I installed Stardock Central and it found that WB needed to be updated. I update that and installed Theme Manager as well. Now whenever I apply a skin from either WB or TM it reverts to Windows Classic. I'll be making my own post now.
Just to through in my 2 cents, I'm having this problem as well, but I do not have an nVidia card. I have an ATI x300 (this is a laptop). OS is XP SP2.
