Was this problem ever resolved? I'd like to purchase Start8 -- using trial version 1.5 on Windows 8.1, but I'm seeing this exact problem. Pressing Win key shows the Start8 with menu items, pressing Win key again and menu gone (all things good at this point). Press Win key again now brings up a blank start menu. Use the machine and after a while pressing Win key now brings up the proper start menu with list of menu items. (but close it and reopen and its
