Would be really nice to have a fix for this bug, it wrecks an entire faction and one of the most fun traits in the game.

If you take the level 4 town/level 5 fortress upgrades that lower unrest across your empire I believe you can theoretically keep an infinite number of cities productive, though I haven't crunched the numbers. The problem is getting them to 4 or 5 in a relevant timeframe, though you can mitigate that problem by creating only cities with at least 1 essence and prioritizing Sovereign's Call over everything. This also means Kingdoms can ICS better than empires in most games through more c
If the game had come out in February, it would still have been a disastrous launch because lack of time wasn't the issue. It was blindness, sheer blindness. We felt the game was finished. And I speak of v1.0, not v1.05. Blindness.
I'm actually playing the game and having some fun for it, but that's a damning statement. It's easy to take a myopic view when you're that close to the situation, but every aspect o
Just wanted to ditto here - I experienced this bug in my campaign and don't really think playing is worth it until this is fixed, I hope it's highest priority.
Do brain surgeons have practice on live brains b4 putting what they learn into effective use? God I hope not
No, but they practice hacking up appendixes and gallbladders and work their way up. IE - they start in noob games and it takes years before they're "pro". Single player surgery doesn't offer up much in the way of extended gameplay.
Rook and Sedna can dominate half the map, UB and Sedna can dominate the other team entirely, IMO with the extra speed, dps, and armor. I have trouble with UB pushing Rook out of lanes though if he's got healing support so if it's those 2 pairs against each other I think the Rook/Sedna combo would come out on top.
LOL, TheSensor has about a 40% winning percentage and is a considerably better player than that. He's willing to take on a challenge and if he loses, he loses. I've played with him and against him several times, each time without incident.
I'd like to second Hiroshima's rook as being downright unstoppable, I benefitted from his awesomeness a few times yesterday. As far as DA's go Archon_SAAR played the best I've seen by far, he stole the show the one game I played with him.
Learning not to chase players into their towers is a great first lesson. I think the biggest lesson to learn is lane control. Own your lane and stay in it. Kill creeps and cap flags until you've got a level advantage then still only press your luck when you have the numbers advantage. Stay aware of what your teammates are doing, if they're running and you're nearby you may be able to peel off their pursuer and save your team a death. One of the hardest lessons to learn is how to not t
I had never really played oak other than my first few single player games and I'm finding this thread very useful. I've messed around with him a bit more and I'm liking the way he plays, he's got a bit more punch and staying power than I really gave him credit for and I don't think I ever really understood how valuable both shield and penitence are.
Yeah, I wouldn't say UB is unstoppable, there are some fights that just aren't worth picking, especially early game. I have a tough time pushing a good Sedna or Rook out of lanes, nevermind killing them. So you have to choose another battle, creep your way to a level advantage and some weapon dmg/lifesteal and then go back and inform them that you do in fact own that flag and you were just letting them borrow it for awhile. It's not about DG choice per se, but I would recommend readin
I just started playing a few weeks ago and opted to learn UB and haven't regretted it. I started off with a pure ooze UB that has huge HP and regen and is nearly unkillable in late levels but it's morphed into a hybrid spit/ooze/grasp UB that can control lanes better early on by scaring off enemy DGs from lanes with spit and still has the late game dps of ooze. You sacrifice a bit in stats and definitely need a mana item where the pure ooze UB does not, but you're better rounded overall. I mo
Yeah, he's phenomenal if he's the 3rd or 5th DG into a fight, but 1v1 he's going to have a hard time holding a lane against almost anybody.
I'm having fun playing SP tournaments, but it gets frustrating on hard having your teammates be complete wimps. Is it possible to mod the rules of tournament play so that your teammates are on par with the demigods on the opposing side? I know I can set up a skirmish to that effect but it's not what I'm looking for.
I'm also a new player having fun with the single player so far and tuning up my game so I can venture online a bit and not embarass myself. Are online skirmish and pantheon games random maps/victory condition or does it default to a certain condition?
Social spending also gets shut off if you have less than -500 BC in your treasury.
I've seen mostly beam weapons until the last few games where I've eschewed beams myself. I wonder if what we're seeing is a correlation of our own tendencies. Otherwise, I'd imagine each of us personally has only seen a pretty small sample size where variations like that are normal. If you put all of our experiences together they'd come out to what you'd expect from the "rand()%3" line of code.
If you target one of their units/planets with one of your units that can attack them it will declare war.
I <3 this feature. It has saved me hours of time in just a few games worth of play.
I hate the tedium of this system as it is currently set up. There's no brain usage and lots of clicking. If I wanted that I'd play an RTS.
It'd be more intriguing if maybe they gave up 1-2 of their planets (if that's all they have left to give) in exchange for an alliance to take out the aggressor. I think that'd be a more effective way to throw a monkeywrench into any galactic domination plan.
I've seen a class 26 planet in one of my games, though no one started on it.
That's definitely a fair request and it sounds like you at least got the autoresponse so you know they got it this time. Have you uninstalled the game completely at any point and started over?
Grab what you can, you don't want to have to worry about the AI picking off your transports using ships that were garrisoned on planets in the middle of your empire while your fleet is off dealing with their core worlds.
That was my biggest problem with my first full game. Tech trading fueled my economy to the point of absurdity. The toughest choices I made were what to sell and when. Everything else was simply a matter of overwhelming an AI who had no chance to stand against my industry.
