Simple and effective.

Nice tutorial , but the icons are either not uploaded or they're awaiting moderation (there is one of your skins awaiting moderation - maybe it is icon #40).
This WMP logo is really nice.
A nice basis for the other icons, and if you have good ideas (I think it'll be so) it may turn into some great icons.
Thanks, mormegil . I haven't downloaded that article yet (now I certainly will) because I have plain 56 kbps line, and it really takes some time to download. Because I've seen there are more of us on Wincustomize with that problem can you please create an additional link with the zipped file?
Good tutorial again.
3 weeks ago you started some Office icons and you stopped and didn't continue it up to now. Will you finish the rest of Office icons, or they will be dropped from the tutorial (I hope they won't)? By the way, nice tutorial again.
I have another suggestion. Maybe the ratings of more experienced skinners should affect the ratings more. After all, they know to evaluate the whole work better then some less experienced skinners (I don't have enough experience too, and because of that I rate only those who I really like, so I never give ratings lower than 3, I don't want to rate badly some skins if I'm not 100% sure I've done the right thing). And if you don't believe the ratings
Corky O, if you use ACDSee, you won't have that problem because when you choose Wallpaper with the right click the program converts the picture (in any format supported by ACDSee) into .bmp and sets is as the wallpaper.
Nice idea, this index. Anyway, may I ask you something? I'm having some problems with background transparency. I use Corel Suite 12 and when I finish the whole thing I convert the vectors to bitmap, choose Bitmaps/Edit Bitmap and the bitmap opens in Photo-Paint, I save it as PNG and choose the transparent color but because of the anti-aliasing some traces of the background color remain. How can I fix it?
I agree with some Roman's (#50) and Weaksid's (#56) suggestions, and want to add something - number of downloads should be a part of the rating (something like average number of downloads per week), appearance, usability and some specific depending on type of skin as well but not screenshot. Rating the screenshot has NOTHING to do with rating the skin. It should just help skinners to present it in the best possible way (if they want to do so, I usually
As always...
It's really much better putting very similar themes into one tutorial. It keeps from wasting time on (although very, very good) tutorials without new elements - it was useful in the beginning but I think now many of us know enough about putting old pieces up. And, this also a great tutorial, keep making such tutorials (and even better if possible ). <img src="http://
By the way, do you plan to make icons for some popular programs?
Another great lesson and another great icon... And everything done 'quickly'... What else to say
Like Ozzy said - The previous icons were great, too, but now...
The more to go the better. Great, as always.
"Anyway, I noticed that the link that should refer to the article "Icon-A-Day #16 (HTML File)" in fact is a link to the previous article." Other links are OK, but that one on your wincustomize home page.
Really, thanx for all these tutorials. You've made a real online skinning school.
Great icon, as always. Anyway, I noticed that the link that should refer to the article "Icon-A-Day #16 (HTML File)" in fact is a link to the previous article.
Great tutorials. And it seems they're getting better and better.
I've used three antivirus programs so far. Norton, Kaspersky and NOD32. Norton was annoying me with false alarms (e.g. a malicious script in Visual Studio?????!!!!!) and I was so happy when it disappeared from my PC. Then I used Kaspersky, and I was satisfied, but I tried later NOD32 and haven't changed it so far. IT'S THE BEST ONE!!!
