This may sound hard to believe, but there are people who love the game as it is right now. I have been playing for hours and am having a blast. I personally think all the negativity is a little overblown. The game has some rough edges, but is otherwise really awesome.
I only have two problems with this sentiment. 1. I have yet (playing in 1.0, 1.01, 1.05, 1.06, a

That cleared it right up. Thank you, sir.
If you're still watching this thread, sir. I have a save game with the weird borders in 1.07 now. Please let me know where to send it / how to get it to the development team.
Quick update. My issue with the game map was edge scrolling. I turned edge scrolling speed down to zero and suddenly the main screen isn't bugging out on a regular basis. With edge scrolling on, every time my cursor approached the edge of the screen the map would scroll all the way to the edge of the galaxy, and continue trying to scroll, rapidly redrawing the map several times per second... Reminds me of trying to play scorched earth on my f
I recently downloaded Gal Civ 2 and Dark Avatar (I've owned them for a long time, but haven't played in years) and installed them on my 'new' computer (Athlon 64 x2 5000+ with 3gb RAM and a GeForce GFX 260 running Win XP sp3) only to find it unplayable. I loaded the options first thing so I could change the resolution to the 1680x1050 that is native for my monitor, and while I was there I changed it to windowed mode, primarily because of the problems I'm having with Elemental. <p
Afraid I didn't save the game, and this went away on its own a couple of turns later. If I see it again, I'll save it and find a way to get the file to you.
I hate to ask a ridiculously simple question, but my Elemental folder doesn't have a Mods folder. Should I create one, or do these files go in the 'my games/elemental' folders with the map I downloaded through the in-game mods feature? Also, can this mod be added to that, or does it mod things they weren't intending to be modded through that feature?
Simple (seeming) bug with the way borders are drawn. Very odd shape indeed...

http://pastebin.ca/1927037 - debug.err I started a new game after downloading 1.06, set my affinity for cpu 0 so the game is playable, and was happily wandering around the map conquering peoples when I came
Played 3 games so far: 1st one with 4 AIs all on "challenging". 2nd one with 7 AIs on "Hard". 3rd one with 7 AIs on "Extreme" (finished that one 2 hours ago). In all of those the AI was ridiculously dumb. It's simply not there. After 70 turns most of the opponents didn't even expand past the 1st city, and they all had very very small armies. Kinda wiped the floor with them in all of my games after 150-200 turns. The AI in this game simply d
I assumed he meant 1012 years after the founding of planet Stardock. Most planets measure time based on local years, don't they? :)
