DavidK - I remember him. I too have some of the 'golden oldies' archived on external disk. I seem to recall that DavidK wrote his skins in Notepad and did the graphics with M$Paint! They were some of the slickest of the bunch. I wonder if any are worth resurrecting and updating...

Yep, agreed Ubuntu is way cool - especially when 'Beryl' is installed [beats looking glass IMHO] I use XP, Vista, Ubuntu and Mac OSX - all either on separate disks or under VMWare,- and I skin 'em all. [Even have Win98 and Win3.1 in VMWare!]
I had exactly this problem. Tried unloading/reloading IP in Explorer/LS shell, nothing seemed to work...until. I disabled the option for Quick Launch and Control Panel icons in IP (might only need one or the other...) Works now
Not sure if this is related, but... I use Litestep and if I change icons via IconPackager [or upgrade], Windows Explorer doesn't start. The process does, but the application does not. Sometimes uninstalling/re-installing IP cures this, other times not. Tried going back to Explorer shell and doing the same - again hit and miss whether it works or not. Damned frustrating. The thing is when it works, all the icons are correct and all is as it should be, but an upgrade or icon ch
I get the full size if I click download, but I used to get full size by clicking the preview. I get this with other folks screenshots, but not mine. No biggy, just an anomaly. Thanks for all responses.
Sorry Fairry~, I wasn't ignoring you (doing this at work...) I can get full size shot if I click 'download', but it used to be that I could see full size just by clicking preview. Some of my full size are different from previews. Question still remains - why my screenshots in particular?? (No I'm not paranoid, just curious)
Jafo you're right, that is what should happen - happens to all the others I've tried. All I get when clicking the preview is the preview! I can't click on the second 'preview' at all. Any ideas?
How come my screenshots, such as they are, only show the preview when selected instaed of the main shot? I've tried re-loading with smaller images to no avail. All the others I've looked at appear as normal. Any one else have this prob, and if not can WC sort it out?
Coolest set I've seen for ages! Bought immediately, and in use ever since...
Thanks guys, however it didn't work. D/L throboff, ran it but no change (after re-boot), damnit. I hate the gratuitous branding by M$, long before bootskin i had amended my ntoskrnl.exe file to lose the M$ drivel, and now the last bit is that little flag its really beginning to bug me! >
Eh? Just takes me back to message board...am I missing something?
I recently saw a thread about losing the throbber in Internet Explorer (doesn't bother me, I use Avant), anybody know how to lose the Windows flag (colour on white ground) in the top right corner of Windows Explorer? Changing the equivalent in IE and Outlook Express is easy but I have yet to find out how to get rid of this branding in WE. In some screenshots, I've taken to pasting a logo in its place - but I want a permanent solution. So, any ideas??
Good, I'll experiment immediately! Main prob seems to be IP - only some (main) icons seem to be changed in Explorer [Message Edited]
Just started playing around with LiteStep (OTS2 stuff), and very interesting it is too Since it is a shell replacement, obviously some OD progs won't work properly, if at all. What are the limitations and/or any guideleines that I should know about? I'm thinking primarily of IP, OB, DX2 etc.
Try Winwall [www.desktopchanger.com], I use it with all OD stuff/XP no probs. Just makes you change stuff more often!!
My real name: Ralph Insolent Radical (Too close for comfort!) My NickName: David Distinctive Hyena (The cheek of it!) Who thinks this stuff up??
I get an error on some schemes, those that use a CPU monitor, and with some apps (BoxRam etc, also using CPU monitoring)-this is it: Unable to locate "Processor" performance object. It gives me an infinite loop error. I know it's been mentioned before, but I can't find a reply to solve it. I also know that it probably isn't necessarily a DX problem - I'm just hoping someone has a fix for it! Other than that I have no serious problems worth mentioning, only minor niggles (occasional crash
Heroes one and all! (self excluded) Marvellous community, thanks to all involved.
Hooray! Its here!! There was a screenshot earlier, which is why we have been waiting with bated breath. Another brilliant skin from the Master Now all we need is Cursors, Icons etc etc Haven't tried colouring it yet but well done indeed to all concerned <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smil
Theme doesn't load, hangs on that error (same with two others by gef - have asked him about it) Shame cos they are all brilliant.
Thought I'd post this here, may get a faster answer than the NG. Every time I load various DX themes (notably Fallout, Clik and Tesh by Gef) I get an error saying: "Processor" Performance object not found. What is it, where is it and how do I cure this? Most if not all (haven't tried them all yet) of my other themes work fine. Is it something specific to certain themes, or something external (either DX or XP)? Thanks <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sad.gif" border
OK now, skins re-appeared after second re-boot. Thx
Just installed SD Central (even though CM started to work!) V.Cool prog - couple of questions: What are XPBench and Stack'N'Sac? In CM all previous vers of WB etc etc are still listed as installed - do I a) delete them, b) uninstall them or c) ignore them? Why doesn't the WB icon appear in Sys Tray? (space is there, but no icon) Since DL of WB 3.90f - only XP skins appear (feature?), where are all my other skins (still showing in directory, but not in display props) TIA - Th
I knew it was too good to be true - admittedly CM works, but after DL'ing WB3.90f, where are all my skins? Only XP stuff appears, is this a feature? Not the end of the world, but... Haven't tried SDCentral yet - may be something there...watch this space...
