That is a big fee to charge for a local phone call. Here, the late fees are almost token and most of the time, if you're prepared to pay straightaway, they usually waive the fee.
Toni and I go to the library lots. Toni is a voracious reader and usually goes through three or four novels a week. If we had to buy books instead of using a library, our house would be very crowded indeed. I love the library for all the interesting reference books it has that I'd never think to buy myself. Our local also has a very good collection of poetry, which I'm ever-so-slowly working my way through.

One of the best things about the life Toni and I lead is it doesn't have a lot of routine (not that there is anything wrong with it). Oh sure, I get up and go to work at the same time and usually finish around the same time. But my work day is always unpredicatable (one of the reasons I love this job). Having said this, I know how important routine is to some people. I do hope yours gets back on track and you get the down time you richly deserve.
Zoo, while I didn't write about it, when we went to Kuranda, we spent some time at a place called Birdland (no, not a famous jazz club). This was basically one very large avairy with both native and exotic birds. After the thrill of visiting Kuranda (see here - http://masomusing.joeuser.com/article/327190/The_Far_North), we decided to have a day lounging by the pool, reading holiday books (my choice was an awesome story by Stephanie Meyer called 'Host' - I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes scifi thrillers) and exploring the township. I really enjoyed this the first time around and enjoyed it as much this time too. This is definitely the sort of story both Toni and I would enjoy reading. I would love to read more but realise fiction writing is probably the last thing you can think of at the moment. I'm still considering doing the writing class. It looks to be fairly basic but the teacher is a published writer so she might be able to give me a few good pointers.

I was even thinking of titling the article 'Way Up North' from the old song 'North To Alaska' but thought better of it as I knew it would really confuse some people.
